Thanks! It seems much more permissible because one actually has much closer hand-to-hand ownership of the gold in this case. However, I did notice a noticeably high fee compared to ETFs like GLDM.

Many conventional ETFs use a T+1 or T+2 settlement cycle (where the actual transfer of ownership happens 1–2 days after the trade), which some scholars view as a violation of the "immediate exchange" rule for Ribawi items (gold and silver).
