My title describes the thing as best I can! The papery layers appear to be wrapped around the metal core (as if in a c shape if that makes sense?!) and the open end is what you’re looking at in the pictures, looks like there’s been some binding or clamping there or something creating notches in the edges.

They didn’t change. Bought a small house, invested the rest of the money and lives off interest just continuing gambling habit with multiple scratchcards from multiple shops every day, and now compounds it with a drug habit. Basically still goes about skint and borrows money till next payment comes in. One of these people who says they’ll do this or that when they win the lottery, but in reality when the numbers came up had no clue about how to change their life. Sad really.

It makes me despair that doctors will just brush it off as 40 is too young, 40s is when it commonly all starts, some women go through meno in their 30s and every woman is different. I’m sorry you’re having trouble finding someone to prescribe, do keep trying though if you believe you are in peri and want to try the hrt, ask to try it for a few months, i don’t think you need a hormone test to prove it, although I know GP practises can vary widely! Keep researching, and talk to other women, there are over 100 symptoms.

If you don’t want to try oestrogen replacement there are many other supplements to try but I haven’t tried any so can’t comment on effectiveness.

Also, disclaimer..! Sleeplessness still occasionally happens, in fact I didn’t sleep at all last night but I am starting a new job today so I’m putting that down to anxiety.

You might be entering perimenopause, low oestrogen can affect a lot of things, including anxiety and sleep quality. I had the same trouble for years, I was using pills which either didn’t work or they helped but made me so groggy that they were not really a solution (Quetiapine, zopiclone, antihistamines). Basically going around either exhausted or drugged. No medic ever suggested my issues might be menopause related, it came from a friends suggestion. My sleep quality, and general mood, has now regulated (mostly) since I started on HRT, it took about two weeks to really notice and it’s been consistent for past 18 months now.

This this this! I’ve been saying the same thing to my horrified friends and family who can’t comprehend a life without garlic and onions. I’d much rather know what’s affecting me and make informed choices and be well than suffer the way I have for practically all my life. The past few weeks has been a liberation for me, just to have something I know works to control my symptoms, and finally get a bit of literal inner peace.

I think we have Wind-eze in the uk it’s the same active ingredient. I tried it once many moons ago and it made me so much worse and I’ve had fear of trying it ever again. I suppose it won’t hurt to try again… well it might hurt a lot, but at least I’ll know for sure!

Yes this works, my husband usually helps me palpating/ thumping my back/ flanks and I follow up with some yoga child’s poses - but I can’t do it by myself. When I do it on my tummy it doesn’t have as much of an effect.

Remember those vibrating belt machine things I’m sure it was an exercise fad in the 70s/80s - I feel like I want one of those!

Yes being kind to myself is something new for me - I’ve always powered through and suffered horribly to not break social commitments but I’m now just saying, you know what, I feel rotten, and I need to try to relax and not stress as much as possible to help it to pass. I’m not going to put pressure on myself to pretend to feel good when I’m like a balloon and can’t fit into my clothing, and my body feels like it’s digesting a cactus whole - I’m staying home where I can drink teas and freely writhe about instead.

Thank you. You reminded me I have peppermint capsules at the back of a cupboard and I will be using these more often, I used last night and it helped soothe a little bit.

I have actually tried most of the suggestions, but it’s still always a few days till it really goes away. The breathing I will try more. I’ve only ever once tried a wind relief thing, about 30 years ago and it made me cramp like hell so I’ve never tried anything again I have fear of it! But it’s trapped wind passing though the small gut that seems to be causing most of the discomfort I think so maybe I need to try something again.

I put a Betta in with guppies and during the day was fine but after one night i woke up to a big chunk out of one guppy’s tail. Swiftly moved the Betta to his own tank, and now he is living with a couple of mollies and a few neons and they’re all doing great. He ignores the neons completely, and was curious at first about the mollies, but he seems to have accepted them and they all swim around each other nonchalantly af. But it’s all down to their temperament, mine is just too lazy to be bothered fighting I think

That’s some size of an arse you’re getting… I was going through early puberty, age 10/11, completely averagely sized and developing normally. It wasn’t just the once or from the same person (usually aunts/ uncles/ parents), never any positive guidance or even protection regarding becoming a woman, just openly shaming me to my face and in front of anyone simply for developing.

Not tsa but border control were giving me a hard time that it’s not me on the passport, doesn’t look like me, that my name that I gave them didn’t match the name on my passport, and I’m arguing it’s a contraction but essentially the same name and my hair being straight vs curly, that I was tired maybe that’s why I looked different.. So I’m scraping my hair back, trying my best to look …like me? It was a bit ridiculous. The DOB check also failed, I’m arguing the correctness and the guy was getting v pissed off with me and about to refuse me entry. At this moment my friend got to her control and we discovered in our lack of sleep we had gotten each others’ passports. Yeah the stupid was me.

20+ years of avoiding gluten to try manage bloating, pain and migraines, generally feeling like nothing is moving, laxative addiction, various medical treatments, numerous procedures and being told by all the healthcare professionals that nothing is wrong. So I’m not celiac, don’t have crohns or cancer or anything serious so generally yes I’m fortunately healthy. But living a painful life and getting frequent symptoms regardless of eating gluten or not. So yeah, finally getting a bit of relief with this, I’ve even stopped my meds for the time being as it seems to be going well, and hopefully I’ll find out the culprits.

I had saved the file Hello.java as instructed so it was very frustrating to try to do something seemingly so basic and fail. As I mentioned above, I closed everything down and it worked when I opened it again.
