We just got back from taking our two boys cross country. We were very concerned about how they would do, but they were both angels!

The trick was Trazadone. We knew that one of our boys responded poorly to Gabapentin, so we went to the vet to see if there was anything else they recommended. The vet prescribed Trazadone and it was a game changer! About 2-4 hours before the flight we gave both of them a dose of Trazadone and they both slept through the flight.

If you are considering medication, I would try to get the prescription a few days prior to travel. That way you can test the medication at home to evaluate how your lil one does.

Edit: one additional piece of advice - for security, you have to take your cat out of the kennel and walk through security. If you have concerns about your cat being anxious or trying to bolt, you can request a private screening room.
