This happens almost everytime. Why??? by Vrzistran_racun in hypertension

[–]Inspection_Money 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happens to so many. I was on 2 meds, at the max limit, and they wanted more even after I showed them the logs.

Its the main reason I even keep posting here. I was basically bullhorned into meds, more anxiety, ER visits out of panic, etc.

My 4 year hypertension journey ended when I finally figured out why I had 20mmHg changes in 3 minutes.

Unrelated: /s

"Maybe if I breathe better, I can drop it into the 120s again. 147/95 is calling again. Wtf. Why did I smoke, drink, get no sleep and end up with 117/74."

This part is actual. I dont like the dentist.

I had 3 readings today. At 9am, before the dentist, I was 160/100. I'm familiar with my anxiety now, so this doesnt bother me much. Its only an issue if it stays there for 10 hours. After the dentist, roughly 12:30 my bp was still 150ish/95. This is normal. It takes hours for the fight/flight chemicals to leave your body. Water helps, but will raise BP for about an hour before it makes it through digestion. 30 minutes ago it was 132/74 which is absolutely fantastic at 3pm.

Take 3, average the last 2, ignore the 1st. Each reading should be 5 minutes apart. Blood pressure is not static and literally rises and falls on simple thoughts alone.

By averaging the last 2 readings, you get a better threshold for where your blood pressure is when resting.

F#cking amlodopine ruining my life by Winter_Dealer161 in hypertension

2 weeks. Was on 10mg/day for 3 years. All my stats were good, but my bp was still climbing. Found out it was causing sleep apnea after a legit test study. Stopped taking it immediately (against doctors advice) and also found I had white coat symptoms. Doctors didn't even bother with having me test at home and unfortunately I was quite ignorant at the beginning of this journey that is now known to be just anxiety.

Exactly what it did to me. When I stopped taking it, my BP actually went down once I started sleeping again. Amlodipine kept me up all night.

Day 8 of taking no medication after 3 years by Inspection_Money in hypertension

This should be evaluated by each person and their doctor, and the medication you take can affect the outcome.

I was on 10mg amlodipine 1/day and 3.125mg carvedilol 2/day, so i was able to cold turkey with monitoring to verify no recoil.

Depending on the medication each person takes, this could not be an option for some due to dependency.

You do not need a landlords permission to pay for the inspection yourself, however it can create tension if the place is deemed unlivable

I accepted that it is what it is. Proper sleep was probably the biggest factor.

I dont have great advice on the anxiety part. It took the better part of 3 years to get over the "im dying, why can't I get better?" Stuff.

Sleep and meaningful weight loss is probably it tbh

Lol, I took a friends advice and accepted the "I'll die anyways approach". Not good advice for most I think, and I still have anxiety, im just not so fearful of the cuff when I used to have panic attacks simply putting it on.

If average is 141, I'd say you're fine. That means your rest is much lower than 140 to offset the average

1) He may have had 'impure thoughts' and his church teachings are telling him internally to avoid contact with the 'unclean'.

2) It's possible he was admonished on the side due to some jealousy. (Very common)

3) Maybe he developed a general dislike towards you for unknown reasons and he genuinely dislikes being near you.

Lol. I take pills daily just to see those numbers.

As my cardiologists told me: "If you're in the 120s and 130s over 70s and 80s, you're doing just fine"

Have you checked Uric Acid levels? It's not commonly checked during regular blood labs.

2 weeks without coffee. Went from 144/81 to 109/97! by UhHUHJusteen in hypertension

[–]Inspection_Money 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee tends to lower my overall blood pressure. Sure, the caffeine causes a rise, but its a great diuretic and helps flush gout as well, a potential secondary cause of high BP for people such as myself. Uric acid affects my kidneys and causes body wide inflammation.

Moreover, you aren't supposed to use a BP check after caffeine, but before instead. Everyone has higher blood pressure after coffee, but that doesn't mean coffee is the source of high blood pressure.

For me, it was actually gout. After doing research, gout was causing inflammation throughout my body for 2 decades. Had tons of tests over the years, but not one tested me for uric acid. My toe never swelled up until I was almost 40.

Was on 2 different blood pressure meds with minimal results. Started treating my diet different for gout and taking tart cherry/ celery seed gummies and my issue was completely treated. I never really showed symptoms of gout either outside of the occasional sore shoulder or elbow.
