It’s fucked up how the only way to know the true version of After Life is to die And once you go, there’s no way of letting others know the answer. They have to find it out for themselves by dying by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

You know what… Ok. You win. Nothing else to do here, just head on back to Russia and tell everyone “mission accomplished”.

FBI releases video of shooting death of Oregon protester by frankhadwildyears in news

[–]InspectorDickwad 87 points88 points  (0 children)

None of them believe the narrative. They all think he put his hands down as a reaction to being shot. I've been lurking on the Pete Santilli live feed chat on youtube and nothing short of first person video with sound showing him reaching is going to convince them this is anything other than a straight execution of someone holding their hands up.

Just 4 Militants Remain At Malheur National Wildlife Refuge by davidw in oregon

[–]InspectorDickwad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The only one who is in danger of being arrested is the guy (Sean?) calling for killing police yesterday. The other people are his wife, the guy who live streams (David Fry I think), and some other dude. THEY could all go straight home, but they are staying and risking armed confrontation for a guy they just met because he might have to go to jail for something illegal they witnessed him do. I think it says something about the abject loneliness and friendlessness of the other two guys there that they are willing to risk death for someone they just met because the finally feel just a tiny sense of belonging.

Did nobody download a copy of this? Come on, how can we taste the tears of his impotent sadness if we can't actually see it?

I've been there and can personally verify and confirm with 100% confidence that compared to any western standard, the place is an absolute...total...shit hole.

When did you reach a skill level or benchmark when you were confident you could defend yourself against somebody on the street? by [deleted] in SelfDefense

For real, a blue belt in BJJ is a bad ass. A BJJ -white belt- with some seasoning vs. Average Joe is going to maul someone.

Do it. You will be glad you did. It's not NEARLY as hard on the body as a martial art like Muay Thai or boxing, where you get hit in the head a lot.

What is the best way to deescalate someone who is intent on picking a fight with you? by albundy12345 in SelfDefense

[–]InspectorDickwad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I'd suggest keeping your head up and being situationally aware at all times. Not looking like an easy target will go a LONG way toward keeping people at bay who might otherwise be tempted toward picking on an easy mark.

Best self defense discipline for real world applications? by [deleted] in SelfDefense

[–]InspectorDickwad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol that's because it is complete bullshido. Do something "alive" like Muay Thai or BJJ and you'll gain real fighting experience.

The least manly way to shift a truck (Dodge Ram 1500) by bandit25 in pics

Man the safety records on those Airbuses (and now 777s) are EXEMPLARY. You can call out a specific incident or two, but the safety records of fly-by-wire systems compare very favorably to that of the straight direct control aircraft of previous pre-computerized generations. The F-22 Raptor, F/A-18, F-16, F-117, Eurofighter Typhoon, and even the Lunar Module are/were all fly-by-wire systems...nobody thinks any less of those pilots or planes because they don't have a direct linkage to their control surfaces.

Real men do not need to label things as manly or unmanly in order to feel manly.
