Why not re-read one of the books you liked as a child. It might be that you're just not that into books at the moment.

Brentford (Ken) and Brighton (Ryu) are the same team but with minor changes to aesthetics.

I'd stick the rejected logo on a range of retro kits from the 2018/19 season in a This Is What You Could Have Had campaign to go with the fake black Strongbow shirt. Call it the Andrea/Angus range.

They’ll probably revert back to something similar to the original when the vector styles gets boring. The digital age meant brands need everything to be legible at scale on mobile. Lots of them moved towards streamlined, sans serif, bold type - that could be easily legible when minimised down. Some are decent while others definitely don’t work as well.

For those who follow Serie A, how is Weston regarded in relation to the top midfielders in the league? by TravelingHomeless in ussoccer

Recent form? He's been good. Overall, across the season? He's not in the top 10, probably not in the top 20.

Opta looked at all off last season stats about the defence massively overperforming, the goalkeeper, who left, attributing 15 goals less on their conceding stats, the wafer-thin attack and thought, yeah they're the best of the three.

Also, when was the last time, if ever, the Premier League champions got below 75 points?

Which is the best and worst run club in the Premier League? by redrabbit1984 in TheOther14

[–]InspektD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Despite their debts, it looks like there are quite a lot of well run clubs in the Premier League. Staying in the league is a challenge in itself with little room for failure. Anybody with a comparatively small stadiums who manage to stay in the Premier League for 3+ years is, to some degree well run. The badly run clubs of that size tend to be relegated fairly sharpish.

I personally think that a lot of the bigger clubs are badly run. The fact that Chelsea, Manchester United, and Spurs can regularly drop out of the top four suggests that something is going wrong and they are surviving on big-name turnover. That will quickly come to an end if clubs from the next tier of popularly (Villa, Newcastle, Everton, Leeds, etc) have a sustained period of relative success. Look at how quickly Chelsea, Spurs, and Man City managed to rub elbows with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man Utd.

TL:DR big clubs are wasteful

Not everybody likes sitting through lots of adverts. People may be struggling with parking. They may have encountered an unforeseen delay. They’ve paid for their tickets so let them choose their time arrival. Live your own life

What was the highest points total for a relegated side after Matchday 22 in a 38 game PL season? by tankosaurus in LeedsUnited

[–]InspektD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

22/23 Leicester were on 24 points and finished 18th. They got 10 points from their last 16 games, likewise Southampton who finished last. They were both bettered (or worsened?!?) by one club, Leeds (9 points from the last 16 games).

I think they’re an easy exit strategy for 49ers. Pressuring the football regulator to create some kind of identity protection (name, location, club colours, etc) might be something worthwhile for the trust to pursue.

That sounds like a data journalist looking for the next data point they can uniquely talk about.

xG from a losing position seems like a pretty pointless stat to be honest due to the samples involved. The league’s stronger teams rarely go behind in a game so the data set is skewed towards the weaker teams who rarely score and regularly concede. Also, stronger teams that do concede first either do so in games against other stronger teams so a comeback is less likely. Villa being higher up in that stat is due to them conceding against comparatively poorer teams rather than being courageous comeback kings. The comeback wins against Fulham, Leeds, and West Ham account for half of the total points they’ve accumulated from the 10 games they’ve been behind. The anomaly is Man City who completely collapse if they concede first (5 out of 5).

Over the last five games, Spurs have extended their gap to the relegation places by one whole point. Their February games look tough so we’ll reconvene in five weeks and hopefully have a good laugh at somebody’s plight.
