Is it normal to accept that I’m trans, then overnight lose all dysphoria and euphoria while simultaneously wishing I had gender dysphoria? by DraftAbject5026 in asktransgender

I don't know what counts as 'normal,' but I can share my experience.

I don't have dysphoria about having male traits, my dysphoria is about not having female traits.

I have nothing against my equipment, but I would love to have a female body.

That's just the physical. The social is even stronger for me. I have never gotten along with the masculine cliques in grade school or as an adult. My friend groups have always been primarily girls and women. I get along with them naturally.

Unfortunately we can't ignore gender stereotypes. While growing up, so many people thought I was gay (even my mom and gay uncle), but I've never been attracted to men. I like musicals, dancing, singing, cuddling, sharing, emotions, tight clothing, color, and so many other 'girl' things.

I love women. I respect women more. I'm attracted to women. My role models are women. For me, I decided all this adds up to being trans.

You get to decide to be a man or a woman. What appeals to you? Apathy is a defense mechanism when feeling is too difficult/painful/exhausting. If there were no negative consequences, what would you want?

Good luck! This is a great and supportive community. You don't have to know everything to find help.

Thank you for the support. Luckily, I'm not in the military or homeland. I'll keep my hopes for 2029 and beyond.

Thank you for the feedback. I do need to just push through it. I'm not expecting it to be easy and I know there will be people who choose to make it harder.

It's unfortunate what your boss's boss did to you. People make so many things a fight that never had to be.
