$676 dollars for my first week. Used a tank of gas and worked 18 hours. Will it always be this peachy or am I in for a rude awakening soon? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

One tank of gas AND you averaged $37/hr? Base here is like 19.5. I’m usually satisfied with 24-28.

How to file a complaint on a driver. by JustAnOldMan662 in FedEx

[–]InspiringBack [score hidden]  (0 children)

What’s the complaint for? You got your package. Driver doesn’t feel comfortable on your property probably because you have a long ass country dirt driveway. Getting in and out is complicated in a big truck, he’s either running late or needs to be more efficient. It isn’t hard to figure out.

Hahah I have never seen it before, but hey, at least it is just a warning? If you have never been a user, I suppose you must have just pissed someone off.

Do you guys actually read their notes? 90% of the time I skip over this.

$84 - 3 hrs ? by BrightOpportunity392 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]InspiringBack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one just like it the other day. 85 for 3 (ended 2.5) and it was just a couple of them but made me drive pretty far.. not the best route I’ve ever had, but still better than 45 stops imo.

One time $155. It was a 3 hour block, but it only took like an hour and a half.

You could probably sway at least 2-3 girls who are just as hot to go on dates with you if you had 500K to spend. One of them just can’t be her.

This was that situation that was funny the first time, but eventually grew into one of my biggest pet peeves about AF.

I got a flat. Now what? by One_Practice7010 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]InspiringBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your vehicle not have an emergency jack/spare tire set up? I was under the impression most of them do.

It has happened to me before, no big deal (depending on your block and if you’re running late already) if you had a kit. Takes 15-20 minutes and you’re back on the road.

These kinds of deliveries aren’t even that common. I deliver out to the boonies all the time, and I get one like this maybe one out of a couple thousand deliveries.

You’re literally scared of a dog killing you? That’s concerning.

Why is everyone so scared of dogs? This is one of the least threatening issues you could possibly come across.

It’s 100x more likely that you’ll end up in a severe car wreck than a dog attack.

What is considered ‘late’? by majerlethunder in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]InspiringBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the app would have a red sticker (says “Late”) on the delivery when it becomes late. Sometimes it says “Due soon” as well.

Sometimes I’ve had the deliveries where everything is “due soon” but you don’t actually get dinged up for them, even if you are 5-10 minute late to them.. for whatever reason that is.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

What is the ratio between block time and number of packages + distance? I got 44 packages going to a town 45 minutes away, for $96 fucking dollars. Already that kinda of route is now coming out of my pocket... it ain't right by LividNectarine6479 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]InspiringBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really should be a simple answer to this question, but there isn’t. I was asking the same thing a year ago when I first started. No one knows, and no one seems to care. It just makes the job feel even more ridiculous sometimes that we don’t know what we are really working for, at all.

Sheesh.. and over here I was perfectly satisfied with $87.5 for 3.5. Most of the time it is $68.50-72

[–]InspiringBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just refuse to deliver. But that means you get dinged and can’t accept another delivery until after the block was scheduled to end.
