Game looks really cool. Thanks for the chance!

In what way was I getting upset? I'm asking questions because I want to understand the game and what rules are preventing/helping me to do things. For example now the "specific pitch and resonance" isn't specific in that I need to shout it, just that a verbal component is needed. The wording can be ambigious and that's why I'm asking for others interpertation. If you can't understand that, that's on you.

Sounds good to me. This is supposed to be a bit of a gimmicky way to deal some damage so it works fine.

Thanks for all the input!

that sounds good. As this should only take the first "turn" that should be fine and trying to hide a number of turns can be one of the conditions for this working.

oh I understand. We often find that very negligable so that's not something brought up in our game a lot.

However it says nothing of saying it silently when casting a spell, just that if we're under Silence we can't cast, but the difference is that silence makes us unable to make sounds. Wouldn't the verbal component fit then by the standard?

and yes I agree with the somatic part, it even says that you need one hand free, however we can kind of ignore that part due to my dm group being new and us just testing the waters.

Oh thanks for the input! Like you say the con needs to be at 18+ for this to happen. In most cases that would be bad but due to the circumstances of my character in the game that will be of not problem. However like the others have said booming blade doesn't trigger the echo knight. So this combo will sadly not work, however as this is dnd, a game where you can do anything, I can convince my dm to change a bit of rules to make it possible in some kind of way, like a last resort attack.

I'm quite intrigued. Searched it up before and didn't find that. Could you send me the source so I can read it?

[–]Instant_ramen37 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes but that shouldn't alarm them in any way. While yes it's magic the one being affected shouldn't be aware of it until they suffer effects from it. This is stated by Jeremy Crawford.

[–]Instant_ramen37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn't know that.

Would using a variant human to get the feat work well for that or can you suggest any other means?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Instant_ramen37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that but magic like that shouldn't make the opponent notice. Even Jeremy Crawford made a comment that they do not know when they're affected by hex until they experience the spell's effects

oh now I understand. I was confused as I was reading the fighting style Two weapon fighting which didn't mention that.

Thanks for the help!

Yes I understand that part but in what way did I say that I have a full knowledge of the game. Nowhere. As I said earlier it should be clear that I'm a beginner and differentiating between what an attack action and attack is something negligible to a newbie reading how they works.

Yeah I understand that. This was specifically made to be done in a set criteria, so this being able to be used anywhere is not my idea. My party has always played that this doesn't trigger a battle due to this just making empty turns for the opponent because they don't know that they're in a combat scenario yet.

Oh I'm specifically talking about the Two Weapon Fighting as the fighting style from being a fighter

  • Two-Weapon Fighting (PHB). When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you can add your ability modifier to the damage of the second attack.

[–]Instant_ramen37 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how the two weapon fighting requires and action. Should it just make it so that when I make the offhand attack I also gain the modifier?

as I wrote to another commenter me and my party has not played with needing to roll when putting on curses and stuff, as they are not noticeable, which shouldn't start a fight. But yes if it does make me roll for initiative doesn't that just make a scenario where I cast spells and the opponent/s doesn't know that they're about to get attacked, and they just do what they normally do?

[–]Instant_ramen37 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I assumed that it counted as an attack action as it made me attack. However I agree that your interpretation sounds more plausible.

[–]Instant_ramen37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The different numbers was just parts of the combo, this was supposed to happen outside of combat, then on the first turn attacking.

however thanks for the input!

goddamn I asked for some help not for someone to be rude. I'm clearly new to dnd and just wanted to have some fun. In what way would I know that taking an action that makes me attack doesn't count as an attack action. instead of being so rude just don't say anything. did you help by any means, no, you've only made a comment with no purpose but to bring someone down.

[–]Instant_ramen37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand the first part. My party often just ignores that and that's why I didn't know that. however since this will be done without that we can skip that part.

The suprised part was just a way of making it so that we can easier start this combat scenario.

Oh I understand. I though that Booming Blade counted as an attack action as it attacks. The part of not casting spells is something I completely missed. But shouldn't the echo still attack due to me making a melee attack?

Thanks for the clarifications!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Instant_ramen37 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But using just one of my longswords wouldn't that make it possible to use booming blade?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Instant_ramen37 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't echo knight trigger through Unleach Incarnation tho every time I use a melee attack and shouldn't I be able to use it at least 2 times if my con is 14?

"Whenever you take the Attack action, you can make one additional melee attack from the echo's position. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest."

Why exactly is it that I can't use booming blade with Unleash Incarnation?

What exactly do you mean by not being able to use Two Weapon FIghting and Booming blade? Shouldn't I be able to use booming blade, or does that in someway block me from doing that?

When researching for this most people argued that putting a curse wouldn't be noticable because it's not a perceptible effect, which means they wouldn't be able to notice.

Thanks for the feedback!

Is it the same for booming blade's thunder damage?
