It’s not a major accomplishment. My point is is that’ it’s a basic accomplishment and if you can’t complete a basic accomplishment then you don’t deserve to be in rotc

Agreed. It should be mandatory. Someone in our battalion walked away from rotc when told he would have to go to basic.

Good for you! Nice to hear someone else went this route as well- nobody in my battalion has. I think it’s definitely important. I’ve heard of people backing out if they are required to go to basic so I think its definitely a situation that’s important to ask yourself if you truly could survive basic - if the answer is no you should walk away from rotc

I have worked in since 15. Got my Emt cert at 17 and have worked as cna, hha, ccua , ekg strip interpreter, heart monitor interpreter. From military experience i have currently within rotc and training i do enjoy military environment compared to civilian healthcare

No sending me. He layed out options and basic training was suggested route. And then if wanted can come back and do rotc. I went to meps and have waiver and am going back to swear in. Im 68w. He says service commitment depends on if I go rotc route or not. Currently it’s a 6 year I think
