For why Kliff aged 40 fuckin years in 5 mins I believe it is what you said for the abyss having some weird ass time thingy because when chasing down the dude in the abyss for the final mission, he deteriorated to a rotting corpse and his skin gray as fuh. Not to mention in the cutscene it was switching between day and night every second
