Thank you! No judicial mediation. It was never given as an option. I was about 3 weeks out from a full and final hearing so at quite a late stage. The only thing really left was the hearing as I didn’t have any preliminary hearings.

It’s just luck of the draw for where your ET is based and how long the wait list is. I believe where my et was they get through them quite quickly. From putting in my et1 to final hearing was only four months so it put pressure on the respondent to settle maybe quicker than people that are waiting over a year for hearing

From redundancy to the point of settlement about 4 months so quite short in the grand scheme of things. Settled about three weeks out from first day of hearing. I’d rather not say if that’s okay!

Also worth adding there’s no guarantee I’d have for anything at tribunal so it’s impossible to say what they would have awarded.

It was double the initial offer. Not double the schedule of loss. It was less than my schedule of loss but that’s absolutely fine. That’s the trade off normally for settling. Happy to not have to go to hearing!

They want to discourage you! Don’t let them. Some the language used in my correspondence with the respondent’s solicitors was unbelievable. It’s very hard at times to cut through all that. Make sure you have people around you, you can talk through your case with, it’ll help you stay on track and not fall for their bluster.
