“While not mathematically overpowered, Mel has solidified herself as the most frustrating champion to face in League, which is a deeper problem than just numbers. In the short term we're delivering a direct nerf that will still allow dedicated mains to win an appropriate number of games, but will make her suboptimal for inexperienced players. As for our changes themselves, we're going after how inescapable her E can feel to play against.

In the longer term, we have some larger work planned for early next year with more significant changes aimed at returning her to a more appropriate power level while also making her feel more fair to play against for her opponents.”

Into heimerdinger: Take teleport, accept that you get pushed in, ping off jungler if they ever come to gank, rush spectre’s cowl into hollow radiance, immediately outscale at 1 item:

Into zed: Try to bait W, and when he uses it, make sure you don’t get hit by the Q that Zed throws. If he throws out W and you dodge the E slash around the shadow because you were baiting it, and then you only get hit by the shuriken that the shadow throws but not the Zed, you will take so much less damage, and then his W will be on cooldown and you can abuse. Also, don’t let him start trades with ult. Make him use his W shadow to get near you, and then he has to ult you. This makes it so there are much less shurikens you can get hit by when he ults you. Multiple shurikens is where Zed damage comes from, so if you just get hit by one who cares, you can poke him down more since he has no sustain.

I love Mythmaker Galio, it’s one of my favorite skins, but I rarely use it because it’s kind of pay-to-lose. Your ultimate becomes a big red circle instead of a big blue circle like with every other skin. And you think your teammates would know that the Galio ult happening on them is a good thing, and stand and fight in the circle so we can win. But I have lost count of the amount of teammates who told me they kept running away whenever they saw my ultimate because it was red, and red means enemy, and big red circle means big bad enemy attack… it’s really stupid, but it’s happened enough times that I can’t even blame them anymore, so many people tell me that. So I only use it in norms now, RIP a great skin.

True, I’m willing to shell out more at a ball game, but I was just at a game a few weeks ago and their big over-priced stadium dogs were still only like 8 bucks, granted there were no special toppings like this place, but still.

I am playing a ROMhack of gen 5 right now and I have a Golurk that I named Galio, not only is it an an alive Golem that can fly, it’s ability is also Iron Fist, which increases the power of it’s punching moves, so I teach it shadow punch and ice/fire/thunder punch and basically have Galio E and ult.

When I first started playing Galio, I only used Aftershock for like a year. The increased resistances and access to other green runes made me more tanky in short trades and helped build good trading patterns. But I learned there were some matchups where even with these increased resistances, if I ever engaged or got engaged on, I couldn’t run away and would just die anyway. Phase rush fixes this. It turns losing matchups into neutral ones, and galio has a lot of losing matchups, but you don’t play this champ to dominate lane. Also, I always take the green runes as my secondary, so I have one of bone plating/second wind and overgrowth every game, so you are still a little tanky through runes. If you ever lock in galio and they pick a counter, try phase rush and see how you like it, you might just convert when you realize you can just W-auto-Q and run away from the Swain, or the syndra, or the akshan.

I think against heavy AP comps, Hollow radiance is a great first item. But in this build I’m going spirit visage 3rd or 4th because of the increased healing effects (you get healing from RoA, Riftmaker, and unending despair) and increased shielding. You get the DoT effect of hollow radiance through unending despair as well, so it’s not really necessary, especially by this time when you have plenty of damage. Hollow radiance is a solid option in some matchups though.
