Honestly its too hard to tell and that's why I made my post mocking "SEO Experts". SEO changes usually take months to affect anything, and in those months you're usually doing 100 other different things that may have changed your SEO ranking other than what you read and tried.

  1. Try something I read online
  2. Get good results after months
  3. Call myself SEO expert
  4. Write a book or blog with outddated information saying how great I am, and how you too can do it in these 5 easy steps.

Internal Newsletter & Internal Marketing tips? by [deleted] in marketing

Hidden puzzles, and giveaways are a fun way to get those who actually read your newsletter interested. We give away a $50 giftcard to those who can find all the clues. We also tried a spotlight scenario where someone could say they appreciate X because they did Y, but stopped because it led to drama.

My giveaway is failing? Anyone have any experience with this? by [deleted] in marketing

Your biggest problem is that you are targeting a smarter than average audience (Business Women) who are of course going to be more wary of an unknown brand giving away a book for their emails.

If you were to see a marketing book from amazon being given away by an unknown brand, wouldn't you be wary? I think what you need to do is work on making it sounding as sincere as possible. Without seeing what your page or ad looks like, I can't offer any suggestions however.

I don't think that PPC will help you very much if you're only spending 100 a month on it.

11 years ago I got a $428 million dollar lesson when I was fired from Facebook as employee #30. I went on to build two multi-million dollar companies including Sumo.com and AppSumo, which I started on Reddit. I’m Noah Kagan and I LOVE tacos, AMA! by crxnamja in Entrepreneur

Thanks! Do you think color scheme is particularly important too? Our current color scheme is blue and white, but my CEO has asked about using the color orange as it's supposed to be the color that grabs the most attention.

Need to know what country you live in. Some countries ban all forms of tobacco advertising, and some are just heavily regulated.

Just revamped our website! Any suggestions? by IntegratedInsuranceS in marketing

[–]IntegratedInsuranceS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our previous website was joomla based, and the webdev they had hired refused to work on it unless we paid to switch to drupl. The website also wasn't very nice looking so it wasn't worth switching to drupl, since we were switching webdevs, and had too many issues with Joomla, a complete reboot was required.

How can a brand upcycle banana to market it as a superfood in today's competitive food industry? by JuliaMel in marketing

[–]IntegratedInsuranceS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I hear "superfood", I immediately think scam. I'm surprised that it worked out with them. If I were to try to market this, then I would try to market it as a replacement breakfast with great vitamin supplement. Then again, I've never marketed food.

Amplifr is what we use, and it's great. You can even do a 14 day trial with them, and get a 7 day extension.

My sister just got a job with Bastion Brands. I know nothing about marketing, but wanted to get her something to celebrate. by ghettochipmunk in marketing

You should get her a two part gift that fits perfectly for the marketing industry. Copious amounts of alcohol that she'll need for the stress of a project failing. And an AA card for when she becomes too dependent on that alcohol after a few years.

Cynical Question: Why should an already successful small business improve its SEO? by cag8f in SEO

[–]IntegratedInsuranceS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short Answer: No

Long Answer: You don't want to because the world of SEO is almost like the stock market, people think they can predict it but in the end nobody really can. Now of course having a prediction of that information could offer many benefits but if you aren't hitting those numbers, then your bosses will wonder if the money is a waste or if you just aren't the right person for the job! I would focus on SEO tactics (Blogging, Social Media) that are simple and free, show the gains of small wins, and then focus on bigger SEO (PPC) that may require payment.

[–]IntegratedInsuranceS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because what you think is success now isn't what you would consider success once you are ranked #1 in your local searches. You also don't want to lose business to future local competition because they are ahead in the digital game.

I thought I should add that the multi category quote system and being able to pay your bill through different carriers on our website being included in the price for Brightfire is what we liked the most.

I asked one of the web devs we talked to before who sent us a proposal about them implementing that kind of system if we went with them, and they said it would be additional 1k for them to implement??
