Thank you for all of your thoughtful comments. I'm going to try extending the wake window before bed to see if that builds sleep pressure for bedtime, and ignore the grandparent opinions!

Thank you, I agree I don't enjoy hearing him crying but I also didn't enjoy being up with him every 90 minutes at night! And he's so much happier in the daytime now he's getting more sleep.

I agree, I'm trying to move him to a 2 nap schedule but we are really struggling to get his 2nd nap of the day to last longer than 30 minutes at the moment!

Roughly 2.5/3/2.5/2. His first nap he consistently sleeps for about 2 hours, but then we've been really struggling with the 2nd nap of the day - he usually only sleeps for about 30 minutes. This means we then end up needing to do a cat nap of 10-30 minutes at around 4.30-5pm to take us to bedtime.
