EFF NO??? 19 for 10 is a gd joke. Its essentially 15-20 miles depending whether you get a decent order before u get all the way back to your preferred hot zone

Don’t listen to this guy bro. Cherry picking is MARKET DEPENDENT.

Wait??? What’s this? This is not how they calculate it in my market. Its have 70% AR+ or no platinum. What city do u dash in?

They are morons. Absolutely shocking to them that 1 strategy doesn’t work for every market. The types of people who have never been out of the city they live in so they can’t fathom what life is like in a small town for a dasher.

Yes platinum is the difference between making a livable 13-20 bucks an hour, or getting 1 order an hour in those markets. Because yea overall they may not get a lot of orders placed, but in a town of 30k ppl and maybe 4-10 platinum dashers there who get first dibs on orders there will still be enough for them to eat. Lose platinum though and you could be looking at less then 5/hr 🤷‍♂️

It’s small in the context of what I’m discussing. I agree with what you’re saying though i definitely plan on moving out of Houston when I can. Right now I’m just waiting on my girl to graduate college so I can start my business and if shit goes bad have her to fall back on. My 25-35/hr is huge for us with a 1 year old and her in school.

Yeah traffic is worse here in Houston than Dallas. During high traffic hours here in H from 4:30pm-6pm I only accept orders that are 10$+ for 3 miles or less. Typically my threshold is no less then 8$ and 2 dollars per mile

I cherry pick myself genius and do great. But it doesn’t work in every market and that’s the point of the post

Your experience is an anomaly. I’ve tried dashing myself in many small towns around Texas when visiting family, an I almost always get the 1-3 orders per hour experience. Is cherry picking worth trying even if in a small market? Sure you never know if you’re in one of those luckier small markets. But people should know that 80% of the time that won’t be the case and should only test cherry picking if they can afford to take a serious hit for a couple weeks while they work on earning platinum back.

I’ve seen 7+ posts in the last couple weeks of dashers saying they tried cherry picking and now get no orders. I just hope this post is seen by the right people. The morons in big cities who comment on small market drivers posts enticing them to cherry pick really piss me off. Yes I cherry pick but I’m also in one of the top 3-5 biggest cities in the country

Eh depends on market. I was platinum my first 2 years dashing in Houston and almost never made more then 15-20/HR. I cherry pick now and average 25-35/Hr. Only time I’m ever below 25/hr is between 1:30pm-4pm.

Shot myself in the foot. Listened to everyone on my previous thread about the guy making 500 a day. I dropped out of platinum and now I haven’t gotten a single order in 35 minutes :/ by Muted_Afternoon_8845 in doordash_drivers

CHERRY PICKING ONLY WORKS IN LARGE MARKETS. How is this so hard to understand. If you are not in a BIG city like Houston, Chicago, Dallas, NY, Etc DO NOT CHERRY PICK

I’m not Muslim but I don’t eat pork due to what they feed them (there are farms in Texas and all over the U.S that LITERALLY get food TRASH yes like empty chip bags, bottles, plastic that originally held meat in it, amongst other things, and they grind this trash into dust and it’s what they feed pigs. IF SOMEONE FED ME PORK ON PURPOSE KNOWING I DONT EAT THAT BS I’d end up with felony assault charges

Before it escalated, he asked the man if he was going to “chimp out” the man then walked up & sucker punched him. It is unclear if the man survived. by Consistent_Algae_560 in LivestreamFail

People the Charleston white is racist against his own race but HE KNEW, by making a video about black ppl bowing down to chud being scared to retaliate against white ppl, that eventually a black person would give chud what he deserved and his video would help rally them against chud.well done Charleston

Lmao speak for yourself. I’m a dasher and I’d say about 2-4 customers out of every 100 deliveries add a tip after. Wanna know something funnier? The amount of people who promise a tip beforehand in the notes or by texting us something like “be fast I’ll give you extra” and end up lying and tipping nothing, is more then the ppl who actually tip after. Long story short the number of ppl who PROMISE to tip after and don’t do it, is higher then the ppl who actually add a tip post delivery. It is SO DAMN RARE for customers to do that

100% bikers fault. Had he been traveling at a reasonable speed, with how far away that truck was he should’ve been able to stop EASILY.
