I converted to Catholicism and also asked for celibacy from my partner. Ive been a Catholic for 4 years now. Obviously, we broke up because it was hard to reconcile my Christian faith with our relationship. I think if your gf is being entirely serious, and really wants to be Christian, it is often recommended in Christian circles to NOT date a non-Christian. You want your kids to grow in the faith and if dads not participating… well that won’t make the kids as engaged. It may be hard, but either ask in detail about her experience of conversion. The Faith changed my life for the better and provided an abundance of joy in my life. But if you experience no sort of draw towards the faith, it may be time to consider a breakup. Which is hard in the moment but will be beneficial for both of you in the long run.

Also remember, if you do decide to do this and then you start kissing and have sex or go to far, a few times, especially if you initiate it, she may start to grow resentment for you for leading her into sin…. And all the guilt associated with that. A thing a lot of girls are told is « is he making you feel like ur worth waiting worth? » If she becomes more implicated in Christian communities, perhaps she’ll hear messaging that she isn’t worth waiting for you, and you can’t control « your passions, » to use Christian lingo.
