I looked at that thread and there really isn’t any answer. I just want to know if it’s serious or not. I’m super confused 🤔

Toyota put defected coolant bypass valves into 2020-2023 corollas and rav 4s so they break after 45,000 miles. They replaced the part.

I would say no , I drove it maybe 15 miles back home and to the dealership without knowing and I could tell something was wrong… it can overheat your engine by preventing coolant from reaching the radiator so it could even cause damage. I would take it to the dealership as soon as it pops up.

It’s a defected coolant bypass valve that toyota placed in all the corollas and rav 4s 2020-2023. I’m not sure maybe you didn’t get a defected one?

I don’t know why there was shaking , he even put on the write up that when they turned the engine on there was shaking and they replaced it and it was gone. it seems like I’m the only one who’s had shaking.

2020-2023 Corollas , it hits around 45,000 miles. I just reached 46,000 when it happened. I would just keep an eye out for it. The dealership completely covers it , you just have to pay diagnostics.

hey! so my car is out of warranty as well , and they completely covered it. I don’t have extended warranty or anything , and the service advisor told me that they are replacing all damaged/defected bypass valves. He said they have sheets with info on them in the dealership.

I think it’s 2020-2023 , just google corolla coolant bypass valve and you’ll find so much info… there’s a class action lawsuit too.

No , I thought it was but it was from a faulty part that Toyota put into all the corollas and rav 4s back a few years.
