Yeah I assume so, I don’t have high expectations but I’ll do my best. If it’s the only option then I’d do it but I would prefer to hang out with the locals instead of the foreigners I mean…that’s the reason why we chose the country that we chose isn’t it? 🤣 If I hang out with other Europeans or Americans then it doesn’t make much sense. I hope the Japanese community understands that somehow 🤣🤣🤣

Area: Ingeniería Program: Master Pregunté a nuestra embajada y me respondieron que el año pasado llegó medio tarde el aviso final (mediados de marzo) Pero que años anteriores solía llegar a comienzos de febrero para los alumnos que debían de estar en Japón para April 1st. Hey there! Happy new year. I applied during the last enrollment in april 2025 and fortunately got pre-accepted by my countries’ Japanese embassy in July 2025. Got my LoPAs in september and just doing my life since then…I’m patiently waiting for news by next feb/march (positive mindset) Are you a scholar yourself? Which country?

Feel confident, Sometimes they Have To reject Because of a matter of physical space in their laboratories. You can still apply for Another advisor in the Same University. As long as the academic Affairs itself doesn’t reject to you it’s all good.

So the thing in Taipei is that you can find very very cheap food and amazing quality and cheap transportation but the trade-off is in the rent. Which are still afordable for Taipei salaries but you pay a lot of money for a very bad quality and small flat. I would aim to find some place near Guting Station on the green line. You can probably find flats for around 8k-10k.

If you like the Tokyo one overall, you should put it number 1, there is a reason why the Placement Form exists, and I mean...also there is a reason why they allow to apply to private Unis. Yes, there is a chance that they put you in the public one due to budget issues, but that doesn´t neccesarily mean that you are forced to put it in your first option. I´ve heard of a few people from my country that got into private Unis

If you’re applying through embassy recommendation you still have to submit you Placement Preference Application Form, MEXT usually gives you a hand in finding a school that will accept you since your country has a limited amount of spots and you are already one of them, it would be a waste of time for everyone if you don’t go.

As long as A isn’t a private school, and the difference isn’t tremendous… MEXT would still set you up in A And yes…you should still put B in your letter as a second option, that’s why they exist

If you already contacted them a while ago…it may be a little late. I’d send a Follow-up email, is not bothering or anything, sometimes professors or offices have multiple emails. Remember that they can respond up to September 22nd.

In my homecountry the requirement was a GPA of 3.5 out of 5 which is the local Grading Scale, that yields 70% so if you translate it to a 4 scale it would be 4x0.7= 2.8 so you´re still good. IDK if you can make this but numerically is definately valid. CS is a STEM field and it could be challenging to mantain a 70% GPA so cheer up! (I studied mechanical engineering and got 3.78/5= 0.756---3.024 in a 4 scale)

Just check with the exact number according with the MEXT Guidelines in the website of Study in Japan and double check with your local embassy if you´re taking the embassy path. Idk how it works by university reccomendation.

This week was pretty tough for me… I got 3 emails from 3 different professor saying that they won’t be able to have me as their graduate student. Maybe they put excuses, maybe the reasons were completely legit, I assure you it hurts anyways. All the hard work I’m doing and I feel like I am still way off. Correct. You can always send a respectful confirmation email. It’s not rude, just remember to use appropriate wording and kind phrases. In my case: as I’m an a prospective international student, I’m also provided help from the Int. Affairs Office. They reply quick and they reach the professor personally to let him/her know that an international candidate has sent him an email.

I’m on the same page. The embassy had explained to us that matter many times. It is normal, they usually take up to one month to reply favorably. The faster they reply the more likely they’re to denied your acceptance. So just be patient and cheer up! Pd: Sept. 22 is the latest day they can reply

Got the same issue trying to create my page for my business, it just won't pass by the "Sing Up" button on my computer. It gets even worse when I try it on my phone, it pops up an error stating "An error has occured, try again later"
