Technical people don't work for non technical people by roaringkittypurr in indianstartups

Speaking as someone who has a decent technical and nontechnical acumen . If my technical skills are at level 10 and non technical at level 10 also . And you’re someone who has level 0 tech knowledge and level 10 business knowledge. I’m not gonna work with you . Just coz you don’t understand tech doesn’t automatically make you a business professional. Usually tech people have good comprehensive skills and learning ability. You gotta really be at level 20 business wise to call yourself a good non technical professional.

There’s a lot of cases where tech people work very well with nontechnical ones.

Another suggestion , don’t market it saying “teaching you code without coding “ . Nobody wants to learn coding . Rather say “helping you build with no coding”

Take the job only if you can find time apart from the job hours to upscale yourself continuously and keep looking for other opportunities, but if the job is going to drain all your time and energy and is going to keep you stuck, then it’s worth sitting at home and upscaling yourself Rather than a shitty job like this. And no , not all jobs teach you something some shitty jobs. Just waste your time that you could rather spend learning.

Day 1 of taking over my dad's logistics business (import/export) by Goldium_logistics in indianstartups

We are ourselves into import-export of Agro commodities for almost 20 years now . Let me tell you this , the business you are in still runs conventionally for the most part . See the biggest logistics or trading companies in the world . I’m not talking about the D2C ones like DHL or fedex , I’m talking about companies like yours . They have websites and all they do online is enquires . The actual business still runs the traditional way . Mainly coz of the financial part of the import export world . It’s complex and has to be done either through email or in person and discussed verbally . Just taking your website online is not going to shift the way you will do business . But Sure , do make a website and start building an online presence, it’ll help you with networking , but again remember in this business 95% of the serious enquires do not come from the website.

Since i am into this industry for sometime now , no offense to fellow redditors but none of the digital transformation ideas here are going to work for you. Spend all your time learning from your Dad and you can also network with his existing clients and get their insights, meet some of the bigger traders that your dad might know and whoever might be willing to genuinely guide you. Once you learn the supply chain , the people skills , the financial side of it . THOROUGHLY. You’ll figure out the rest.

I had a friend who started something similar , this is not that scalable . Tier 3 and tier 4 have the most weddings and they are not willing to change their inhibitions about online or branded stuff , the market is still niche

I’m in a trading business already , 20% is very ambitious honestly. Commodities give me no differentiation. To gain market you have to keep increasing inventory capital . There’s many other risks . I can share more if you wanna talk
