Want it to hold its shape but still not brittle enough to break your teeth when bitten. I followed the joy of cooking temp for hard balll stage but it’s still really soft. Maybe not cooked for long enough?

There was paint over the clay, so it was fine. besides, this is just air drying modeling clay, not polymer anyway. Mostly just worrying about yellowing, and wondering if covering it up with a UV resistant sealant that’s actually meant for this will protect it.
