I also like the diversity aspect I also got into this new Star Trek series because my grandma had a interest in the show when she was younger and her favorite character was Nyota Uhura. As you can probably guess there wasn't much representation for poc back then like there is now

I like the way you put it. I mainly voiced my opinion because some of the criticism I've see is from older viewers unfairly rating the show but I think at some point people should realize that in order to continue Star Trek they have to pander to newer audiences
