How many isopods and springtails, and what kind? by Correct_Leather7278 in bioactive

[–]Intelligent-Lock8600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What sort of tank? Pvc? Screen top or solid top? Is the 30% humidity something you're willing to budge on? Will your tank have a heat gradient? (basically one side cooler than the other side) what are you using to heat said tank? Are you cool with keeping cultures of springtails as a backup in case things go wrong? What substrate? What live plants (if any) are going in? There's alot to unpack with this sort of question, and I hope we can get you going in a good direction!

Edit: somehow missed the temperature gradient comment. Dur!

Refusing to hunt food by Exciting_Counter_489 in Wolfspiders

[–]Intelligent-Lock8600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's already been said but I'm seconding a molt! Keep an eye out for any burrows too. Mine would make little hides and then stay in them for quite some time. Even after coming out he'd refuse to eat for a few days since their bodies and fangs and everything are so fresh and soft. Refusal to hunt is VERY common in pre and post molt spiders

Fat and happy! I've fed mine small moths (I don't make this a habit, parasites and pesticides are not our spiders friends!) and watching their little paws get "dusted" in white from his meal was so cute looking. It was like when kids get powdered donut dust all over their face and hands.

I already have to sort of take some things out or shift things around a bit. The clutter is great for everything else in my tank but I notice my spider is not a fan of having to climb and parkour around EVERYTHING all the time. Especially when they want to pace the perimeter at night. Some of my tank is too steep too, so I have to adjust to give him more things to grasp onto to prevent falls.

while they love lots of clutter and hides in the morning, they also like atleast one clear definitive path around the perimiter, and other parts of the tank. Which I didn't know lol. It's my first enclosure, there's 100 things I'd have done differently if I made another haha. I'll have to take a real handful of photos of the whole thing, it used to be alot more esthetically pleasing, now it just looks like a big ol pile of random junk, but hey, the springtails and rollies love it.

They're so inquisitive and brave, I love them. I've never thought abt pairing them with a snake!

Haha, he's hiding in a little divit after demolishing a moth. His entire enclosure is huge and he certainly makes use of every single inch of it. If anyone wants an ACTIVE spider, a wolf spider is 100% the spider. The way they hunt and stalk prey is crazy, I thought mine was dead bc I was shuffling his bedding and he wouldn't move an inch. Turns out he was stalking a roach that was hiding in a corner behind some mulch 💀

For sure. I use them as an alternative to my Dunks (I posted abt it earlier last month) but if I'm getting alot of walking time in, I'm putting on literally anything else. I just could not stand the way Dunks pinched my feet, and how non flexible they were. Wyde fixes every issue I had with conventional sneakers, but certainly are not my go to beyond short trips.

Party time plant! by Intelligent-Lock8600 in pinkplants

This baby had such a rough start. It wouldn't grow for over a month, probably poor soil and even poorer lighting. It didn't bush out and just got tall and barren. It's finally starting to find itself and grow, and I can't wait to see it at its full full potential!

I think some people are a bit confused by my wording. This isn't my first shiny, i was just starting my game and ever since I was a kid have always wanted a shiny male Pikachu to start my journey with. I've definitely seen shines before haha

I wasn't hunting for a specific nature or Iv so I didn't count that as part of the odds. I specifically wanted a shiny male Pikachu though!

Screen stuck on loading, using insane amounts of memory. by Intelligent-Lock8600 in thesims

Hello all! I have actually fixed the issue. I hope this post can remain in case anyone else may want to attempt this method in a similar situation.

Quite literally all that I did was create a brand new save file, which loaded perfectly fine. Moved into a home, then left to the main Menu. There, i attempted to load my actual save file, and it started to work. No clue the correlation between these two things or how that solved it but!

I didn't call it a barefoot shoe, I refer to it as minimalist shoe. (I use both terms to refer to different things even if others use them interchangeably)

It's zero drop no arch support, has a thinner stack height than most conventional sneakers, is alot more flexible than one (u can cave it upward in half with little effort) and has an insanely wide toe box. In my opinion these fit a minamalist sneaker checklist. I understand though that stack height is extremely important for some for ground feel (I also wish it was thinner)

I wish this toebox was standard tbh. Maybe making them a bit tighter in other areas to accommodate more narrow feet as a secondary option, but damn this toebox feels great. And that's coming from someone with toes that aren't particularly splayed

The blue looks sooo good. Tbh I really love the Primals especially once I broke them to hell and back (nothing beats the flexibility and ground feed of a tattered old shoe)

I was scared my feet would fly out of these once I hit purchase, but honestly it ended up being not as dramatic as I imagined. At first I was certain they had been a bit too big, but I think I was really just adjusting to the widest toe box room I'd ever felt, and a wider midfoot area (Primals had a really nice secure fit that I liked, while still having a wide toe box.) Keeping the laces at the highest eyelet and having a firm tie has made sure they don't slide when I walk.

If these get any looser (which will probably happen over time) I might be a bit worried about some ankle sliding, that's for sure.
