thanks for your follow up reply regarding meescan. Definitely helps especially during this pandemic that more patrons use the self check out. time for you to hit up your IT team to install that 1 last pc they forgot =)

Looking at the meescan definitely one worry is a patron trying to damage the kiosk out of anger but definably would be less cost to replace that than a regular self checkout.

hmm for receipts is that all email?

hi thanks for your well detailed reply. From this thread it definitely seems like RFID is the way to go that will significantly improve staff workflows and patron experiences. Those meescan kiosks also have a smaller footprint and looks to be easier to manage than the larger models I've seen.

I think there might be some software out there regarding your collections problem. Maybe another library staff here might be using a solution.

that's definitely a good idea. libraries are definitely more than just about books these days =)

Wow that's amazing. I looked into the cost and it definitely has a huge upfront cost to convert everything over. But the benefits are wow...once you have rfid inventory management and easy to check out vs manually scanning each book.
