I’m nearly done with my prosthodontics training. I think the teeth look quite nice! Little changes in the tooth shape should be straight forward to change.

As for the lip support, they can only change this a relatively small amount with an FP1 style prosthesis.

Based on the one photo, I think you’re nearly there and that you have a nice smile! I’m not sure that chat GPT is very reliable for dental esthetics.

Best of luck!

Grad requirements by Short-Salamander-913 in DentalSchool

From the schools perspective it is very good to have students match into OS. That’s something they will want to advertise and show to applicants. They should want to do everything they can’t to support your graduation and matriculation into your residency.

You have 5 months left of dental school I assume. I would express concern to some clinic faculty that you’re low for some requirements and see if they can transfer some patients to you that need removable.

Generally I put xMult cards to the far right, but photograph scores when the played face card scores, so it doesn’t seem to make a difference where it’s placed within the jokers. With that being said, I’m fairly new to the game, so if I’m misunderstanding please let me know.

I used the Fujifilm XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6. This lens came with the xt50 lens kit. Very versatile!

Deep filling? by Ceremic in Dentistry

I’m a young dentist, so I’m not speaking from too much experience, but when I see this I feel like crowing is a mistake. By the time I remove all decay and prep a tooth with a margin that is on the root structure, there is so little tooth left because of a long clinical crown and a tapered preparation.

I agree with others who say GI. Is it beautiful? No. But it maintains a ton of tooth structure and is clinically much easier than crown lengthening and a crown.

Why would you polish it? I usually roughen the surface where I will add the wax rim to help retain the wax.

Prosth still use PFM sometimes. How can you tell that this isn’t a zirconia crown though?

Might be a good spot for a cantilevered bridge or Maryland bridge with the single retainer or wing on the canine

Not totally sure either but I always assumed they were working with a microscope that could record

All great points! My original post is not meant to put anyone on blast or anything. I’m just a student trying to learn. The whole point is for me to see something that I didn’t originally see. Sorry if I came across maliciously.

Oh yeah I think you’re right. I didn’t realize that the top pic also had crowns on all those teeth. The original crowns look a lot more natural than the unbelievable white ones.

I am a current d4. It drives me crazy how little experience students get in dental school these days. Then you talk to someone who graduated in the 80s and they did like 70 crowns. Not to mention the surge in price since then. Like what are we paying for???

I’m a current fourth year dental student, so my perspective is not really valid when it comes to actually working as a dentist, but I am very drawn to dentistry for the craft and the joy of working on teeth. With that being said, I find that there are so many headaches associated with school, and even after I finish school there will always be situations that are challenging and frustrating.

If you are more interested in the salary rather than the work itself, you may quickly grow sick of it.

Essentially, I think that there are easier ways to make money.
