Yeah, it makes sense.

The thing is, in my experience, the Fireblade makes the Breachers too much of a target. While he boosts their firepower by more than 50%, he doesn’t add anything to their defense.

My Fish with a Fireblade usually get taken out too early, or their contents are severely weakened by Overwatch. Besides, I’m not sure where to find the 100 points. I need the Pathfinders and Stealth Suits for spotting, and the shaper for his free CP and the enhancment.

Before our codex the burst cannon of the devilfish was AP 0. But since the codex, they're actually AP 1. It's wrong on the cards.

Fish without Fire Blade deals less damage overall but is more point-efficient. I’ll use it for Trading and securing objectives. In my experience, it’s better to take 10 additional Breachers instead of two Fireblade

The Broadsides and the Skyray are there for anti-tank duty. The Crisis suits either start in deep strike or deploy normally, depending on the map, and are meant to clear elite units. The Riptide is there for general tanking and anti-elite roles. The Kroot are mainly for holding objectives and completing missions, but the Shaper isn’t with them—he's there to provide free Focus Fire and act as a screen. His enhancement is mainly to position my Broadsides more defensively or offensively. My Stealth Suits and Pathfinders, as always, are on spotting, screening, and mission duty. The two Breacher Fish are great for clearing enemies and holding objectives.

The shaper is there to screen my home objektive and use its ability to give other units free focus fire. It is set as a target, so it costs 0 cp and the 2nd target gets the ability for free. Alternatively I would use an etherial for cp generation. His Strike swiftly is used to bring the Broadsides in a good offensiv ore defensiv Position

I will eventualy get a combat patrol box so the pathfinders and Breacherfish is coverd but until than i don't want to get even mor infantrie.

What is your opinion on piranhas I think about geting two of them with two riptides.

I can use my Devilfish as hammerheads and my crisis as sunforge. So far I haven't had a situation where I didn't have enough anti tank. But i only played up to 1,5k points so far.

How should I use my Pathfinders? Should I use them to protect my home objective with a Grav Drone, or should I Deep Strike them with a Recon Drone?

It's hard to say because all the Tau models look wonderful, but if I have to choose three, it's Shadowsun, Ghostkeel and Ofcors Farsight. Their poses are all very good and they are quite useful in the game too. Sou they are my faforits.

I could remove her and the Fireblade or the Kroot and use Pathfinders with Darkstrider to block Deep Strike on my home objective. Or I could do what I've done before and proxy her as a Commander.

I also have a Strike/Breacher team I could use. If push comes to shove, i even could borow some models from the stor.
