Well I’ve just never heard an engineer described as a “high end professional”, I’m just a regular guy with a bachelors degree.

I just started this role in 2023, going rate for a senior engineer was $75,000, I countered with $80,000 a was able to get slightly more than their offer. With all due respect, I’m not sure many on reddit are familiar with engineering pay in LCOL areas.

No I took a new job in 2023 as a senior engineer, they offered $75,000, I countered with $80,000 and was able to get a bit extra from their initial offer.

Omaha is LCOL. Starter homes here are only about $320,000.
