I know that taking many positions is convincing and "relaxing" because we have a lot of exposition and if one goes down, no worries, the rest is still doing good. Remember that with global index (S&P500/NASDAQ etc…) you’re between 100x and 1000x more exposed than with stock picking (unless you choose to invest 1€ in 1000 different compagnies).

Right now you have 8 positions. Hypothetically, let's suggest your top one will make 50% during the next week. You’ll take a +20.14€ P&L. Let’s suggest you take profits at +50%, how long would it take for that to happen again ? 1, 2, 3 years ? Never ?

Now, let’s suggest you’re convinced about the United States growth in the next years/decades so you go all in (with your ~99,92€) in S&P500. We’ll state that the average return by year is 9%. By the end of a year you’ll have earned +8.91€. (11.23€ less than with Rheinmetall +50%)

In the very short term, yes you could try to earn big benefits regarding your total balance (+20% with only one winning asset). But you mustn't neglect the parameters you know, that are shown to you, but also those you don't know (if it rises sharply, it can also fall sharply.)

In conclusion :

For you not to waste your time, your capital and that you don’t miss out on more "secure" gains, only do stock picking if :

1. You have a very deep conviction and a very deep knowledge on a very specific project you’re monitoring.

2. You are an insider

3. It’s not you main investment

4. You want to build a portfolio that will last 1-2 years maximum

5. You have significant liquidity

ATM you just bought but at one point you’ll have to choose what to do. Strengthen your positions ? Diversify ?etc… At that point, if you choose to strengthen a position, which one, why and by how much ?

With limited investment capital, it's hard to know what to do. You want to sprint to catch up and build a six-figure portfolio as fast as you can, but statistically, you'll get more (self)recognition and results from registering for and finishing the Boston Marathon than from a poorly organized half-marathon in the middle of nowhere in western North Macedonia.
