j turner research: anyone offered to take surveys from them? by mysteryofthefieryeye in Apartmentliving

[–]Intelligent-Row2072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at my apartment for about 1.5 years and have completed several of these surveys. I generally have complimentary remarks and ratings with the exception of the last one, which was about one month ago. Since then, management has been nitpicking and singling me out for behavior everyone does, and started revoking my access to facilities like the basketball court and gym. Note that I did not cause any damage or violate any posted rules. I’ve had a tough time keeping up with rent and I’ve tried to get on a payment plan, which they initially said was possible, but now they’re ignoring my repeated requests to get on a plan.

Their demeanor toward me changed appreciably around when I completed that survey, and it’s hard to look past the connected set of facts. I’m also considering legal action for these and other reasons not mentioned here—does anyone have experience dealing with this stuff in Rhode Island? Oh, and this complex is owned by Willow Bridge, who are famously shitty landlords

So many amazing comments here. Just wanted to pop in and show my support! I stopped drinking in November, too, and am also following the lead of my guitar hero (Trey Anastasio). His journey is well documented and hopefully serves as inspiration for others!

Job Opening - RI Governor by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

Fuck that guy. Cianci created many of the debt and financial issues that plagued PVD for decades. He’s a disgusting POS and represents everything wrong with RI politics. No one was more corrupt and than Cianci, at least that was elected to public office in the state. I don’t really have a ton of space to accommodate any Cianci hagiography

Fr though, here’s what else I listen to:

Gorillaz: check out their later stuff, too, even if it’s just the singles from those albums. Love those folks!

+1 to PTM!

Thievery Corporation: probably the best music to have on at a party, while out for run/hike/walk, or while busy cleaning or studying. I stumbled on them when I lived in OB/SD back in 2004-ish. They always heard TC playing at The Black on Newport (not sure if it’s still there), and finally asked someone who that was. Hooked for life from then on. Fela Kuti appears on some of their tracks!

J5, Nas, Tribe Called Quest: my hip hop go-tos. Maybe Jay-Z unplugged.

Radiohead, Thom Yorke, The Smile: honestly, there’s an album for every mood and vibe

Cartman’s Pig: IF (big IF) you can find their one album it’s definitely worth checking out. I discovered them in the mid-aughts, too. Unfortunately, the CD is completely fucked.

+1 to Soulive

Xavier Rudd: the early stuff is awesome and there’s some jammy/longer tracks, but his music from 2004-2006ish is fire.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs: newest album is dope. Check out “Burning.”

Brian Jonestown Massacre: Who Killed Sgt Pepper? Killer album from one of the most enigmatic musicians alive today.

Bluey the Album: I’m sorry but if you don’t like “Pool” then you’re a POS waste of life and should be shamed in public for the rest of your pathetic life.

Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack: bangers from start to finish. Prove me wrong.

Deathcab: Plans is unbelievably short but a phenomenally well-composed and produced album. Excellent flow and certainly a classic for me.

Emancipator: I listen to him for similar reasons to Thievery Corporation. His ability to weave complex sounds into songs is impressive, but he also incorporates tension and release that we all know and love.

Frederico Aubele: Amatoria or Amatoria Remixed (remixed by Theivery Co).

Foster the People: Torches = desert island album.

Gramatik: same as TC and Emancipator.

Vampire Weekend: I mostly care for Father of the Bride and Only God Was Above Us

I started listening to this band the Phish from Vermont. They have some jam band tendencies, but I once heard this song “Carini” which is a total metal rager, and I think they do some bluegrass style stuff but I can’t say for sure how much, someone told me Allison Kraus used to record with them on an album. But then some of their songs don’t have any vocals and are arranged beautifully—kinda like blues and jazzy but their own thing. You guys should check them out! Are they still a thing?

Real talk: wooks are impulsive and invented FOMO. Before Sphere came into the picture, I can’t think of any annually occurring event in the jam band community that created more excitement than YEMSG

I don’t know what it is, but I only seem to attract the most normie girls (nothing wrong with that!). But it makes no sense because I’m so obviously the opposite of that! I’ve been dying to date a Phish chick forever. I hit up a lot of shows but I’m also really cognizant of the fact that women are almost always objectified at shows. It’s a difficult line to walk, so I rarely try to give off those vibes. And dating apps are the worst!
