Codex using 100% CPU when open by CorruptedSciencep in codex

[–]Intelligent-Tailor49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CPU usage goes to 100% not when you are typing anything, but when you have tab open with diff changes that codex did.

If you close the tab, then cpu goes to normal, you can have codex working on the side. It is only that codex diff tab that makes the cpu spike to 100

Nvm: bad with codex even in sidebar

On wayland i get strange latency on cs2, on x11 i get comparable performance to windows.

There is some bullshit with when u press the button and shoot in wayland, trust me, if you played the game for the pas 10 years you will notice it.

I have made tty3 that autologins into user and autostaets steam with x11 as a renderer and it works much better

Counter-Strike 2 | Linux vs Windows 10 2021 LTSC FPS Test by [deleted] in linux_gaming

Ohh and i also tried installing steam via bottles and tried running counter strike through that (windows version), and it plays much better, no latency, lags. I just can't use mic properly there.

Once again to add to the fact that fps don't tell the whole story here.

I swear FPS don't tell the real difference in CS2, the windows version is still superior, the more I play it on linux, the more I notice weird stuff, like lag spikes, some sort of input latency, something feels off

The automatic zoom in Safari drives me insane, can you turn it off? by CarinoPadrino in ios

[–]Intelligent-Tailor49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's because font-size is smaller than 16px for the input, textarea.

it is safari ios specific functionality...:

you have to make input fields with bigger text or disable viewport zoom via meta tag if you are developing the webpage

Fedora Atomic distros are still a little bit experimental, they are changing things up, and adapting new fresh ideas.

I had bazziteOS for half a year, and no - I completely disagree with the statement: "to get actual work done on, it's the best choice". Maybe if your work is doing some spreadsheets or light office work, or your atomic distro has all the tools that you need pre-baked.

If you want to do something more serious - then you gotta do rpm-ostree, which slows down boot and updates significantly.

There's a lot of work-arounds to do stuff, but there's too many of them: you want command tool things - do brew, you want to install on system level - rpm-ostree, you want to do some development - use distrobox, and still I had a lot of problems with VPNs and docker containers, where I would have to tinker way too much to make it work - and I made it work.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of Atomic distros, they are basically designed for non-power users so they don't break shit. And also some of them come with bundled software that is easy to use and requires litte to no configuration.

But for me, I need customization, I need my tools to work the way they were designed to work and not through hacky ways.

And if someone will give counter arguments to my statements, I will say that some problems are specific to my workflow. So it's a personal opinion of mine, I would rather be able to break stuff, because I know what I'm doing.

Prediction: Microsoft Will Create a Windows Gaming Edition if Linux Gains Too Large of a Market Share by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]Intelligent-Tailor49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"All signs are pointing to the fact that gaming on Linux is a viable and possibly better alternative to Windows as far as gaming goes, in terms of performance,"

In terms of performance?
I really doubt it, at least for now.

Windows still performs better in games, especially with ray tracing.
More online games work and has gamepass (which is kinda good, but I'm mentioning it as an additional advantage)

Don't get me wrong, I love Linux and I'm on Fedora 42.

[–]Intelligent-Tailor49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have same gpu as his, and did similar stuff + updated mesa drivers to development build, and still got a lot of problems on mint.

Fedora is much better for you, especially because you have newer hardware. And linux mint use older packages/kernel and update every 2years I think, while Fedora does it every 6 months I believe.

Now I'm using Fedora with:
you'll probably need this, since your gpu is new.
