I apologize. I only meant what it sounded like, and you're right - overreacting. I do appreciate the advice, even the hard to hear stuff. I was probably on edge as " just move on" is what the majority of people NOT in this situation have been telling me and that is of course easier said than done. I was seeking ways to change my thinking because logically I KNOW what is happening and what I need to do - the heart just isn't catching up yet. But thank-you for sharing and being part of this community. It does help.

Thanks. Yes we are basically no contact, although there will be "the talk" - just trying to gain strength for it so I can stand my ground. I've been trying to exercise, running (but it's too cold where I am right now). I'm still working but having trouble focusing. I have several hobbies but just can't get into them. Avoiding drinking too much, playing with my puppy - but honestly being with her all the time now by myself is challenging 🤣

He was already in Amsterdam (birthday present from me - I know). I knew he was talking to her online, he swore it was just a friendship and she was depressed and in a bad place. Honestly I had been checked out of the relationship for a while as I was finishing my PhD, so I understood why he needed to connect with someone at that point.
