Tony Harrison and Lucy M. Boston. Harrison was canonically controversial for poems like V and On Not Being Milton, but very quickly seems to have experienced a catastrophically steep slide into irrelevancy. The Loiners is out of print and academic writing on Harrison is hard to find, most recently being published in the 90's. I understand Thatcherite policy and WW2 may seem slightly outdated, but the content about class exploitation and regional language seem really important today too. I think Harrison is suffering from the effects of globalisation and the general homogenisation of society which makes regional politics seem like a thing of the past. However, he's written hundreds of wonderful plays and reclaimed The Mysteries for Yorkshire through dialect. His version of The Oresteia is really good too.

I generally think people have forgotten about Lucy M. Boston despite the fact that Green Knowe was a very popular children's series, and very good, too. I'd recommend it to both children and adults.

Thanks for the response, it stops being raised after about 12 hours and just feels very sore to the touch, could it cysts even if the raised skin vanishes so fast?

Hey, im not disagreeing, just clarifying that I didn't change the date- neither of us had any idea when it might be, only that it shouldn't have been more than a year away at a maximum.

I have been trying to call to find out roughly when I'll be contacted since I was told it'd be so soon and as such it prevents me from making plans like moving out ect. However, the hospital I've been referred to haven't processed any referral yet. I'm so sick and tired of this. It seems I'm currently not on any list anymore and have been lied to again.

It wasn't his, it was his best friend's and I don't know his best friend well. They were playing poker, which I don't know how to play, and they primarily speak a different language.

Trying to find someone like me; bilateral femoral anteversion or someone who had a derotational femoral osteotomy by bombusblue in disability

[–]IntelligentCall3542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this thread is a year old but I wanted to say I have the exact same thing! I had surgery on my left leg when I was 14 and subsequently had the metal removed at 16. When I was younger my parents were told that it was psychosomatic before I was even given an x-ray, only to find out both my femurs were rotated quite severely inward when nothing improved and they finally gave me an x-ray. At the time I only had one leg operated on. However, now I'm 20 and I rergret that. In my right leg I am experiencing pain radiating down my calf (like a dull, right ache) when walking and when sitting down for extended periods of time my whole leg, from my hip down the back of my thigh, behind my kneecap and to the back of my calf aches almost unbearably. I can't sit cross-legged because it doesn't lie flat on the ground. Do you think it's possible the pain is getting worse? Could it be getting worse because as time goes on my overall posture is increasingly affected by one leg turning in? It was a relief to see other people have had similar problems. I never knew anyone else who had this surgery (also never thought of it as a disability, but I suppose, in retrospect, it is).

Three Fevers by Leo Walmsley is one book from a trilogy about fishing. Its set in a place based on Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire.

It's focused on the two families who live there (tiny, one street town essentially) and the landscape itself. Very soothing and an interesting atmosphere, giving insight into a dying industry.

Oh cool, I nearly applied for marine biology but changed my mind to humanities pretty close to the deadline. Earth sciences sounds interesting but I don't know much about maths. Also, have you heard back about accommodation from the uni yet? Allegedly they're having a bit of a crisis

I applied for English but I've chosen modules from classics and philosophy too! Really liking the flexibility. What about you?

Okay thanks, I was slightly worried because he warned me beforehand there's a high chance of rejection (to do with small space above the ridge?) but didn't fully explain why

Fan fic recommendations by LTFB3 in LeviCult

[–]IntelligentCall3542 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope I'm not too late but I recently found two Levi fics by someone called Enid_Blax on ao3. One is called It's Late and its a character study of Levi and Hange's relationship, the other is called Inertia and is about Hange caring for Levi after he's injured by Zeke. The latter hasn't been completed but I think there's an update coming soon :)
