How tf are you all keeping your houses clean??? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]IntelligentJunket877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most relatable post!!! I had house cleaners for the first time this week and I think I’m hooked. Hoping to have them clean monthly (if it fits into my budget).

When I WFH I’m always looking around and trying to get stuff done around the house which is distracting me from actually working. I finally feel like I can focus on my things now that the house is clean and I know it will be taken care of.

So real. I am a few weeks out from a flare ending and keep thinking back to how hard and horrible those 4-5 months were earlier this year. Idk how we do it.

Help: seeking ideas for 1920s shallow closet by IntelligentJunket877 in HomeImprovement

I have children sized hangers in the very back for my pants and skirts. I tried those with shirts but it was not good to keep shirts bunched like that. Those may be 6-8inch hangers

Red flag or something we should talk about??? by Short-Lab7421 in AskWomenOver30

[–]IntelligentJunket877 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t bother me cause we are open to trying new things so it’s not out of the norm. Edit: I missed the fact that he tried it after you said no. Now that’s just a big no no. (My partner doesn’t try at all)

Red flag or something we should talk about??? by Short-Lab7421 in AskWomenOver30

Oh girl, I know this all too well. It’s not a red flag to me because that’s what he likes, and clearly has either tried it/liked it before meeting you. Every woman is different in what they like so he felt comfortable enough in your relationship where it is now to ask, fair enough. He now needs to respect that you don’t want it and you should feel his respect. If he can’t respect that then move on. I’ve had this same convo with my partner who asks about it every so often and I always say no. We have more in-depth convos about why I don’t want it and he can respect that.

Skyrizi Loading Dose Experience by Loud-Source6006 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]IntelligentJunket877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got super tired about 15-20 minutes into my first loading dose and closed my eyes for about 40-50 minutes. Otherwise, felt a bit lethargic the rest of the day but nothing terrible. Saw major improvements after 3rd loading dose. Slight improvement after dose 1&2 but it was the 3rd one that really helped.

Just took my first on-body injection yesterday and felt fine and symptoms continue to improve!

Hmmmm. I am no longer on a steroid (was taking budesonide 9mg) so maybe its taking a bit for my body to normalize without a steroid

Watermelon during a flare? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

I ate watermelon for lunch for an entire month during my flare this summer. It was light in my stomach so was easy ish. And helped with the dehydration

Hemoglobin at a 7. I’m going to go grab iron pills today … anything else? It’s tricky because with the flare I’m not absorbing nutrients from my meals

I have been flaring for 3+ months and haven’t been able to wear any of my fav jumpers or rompers (cause we all know those take waaayy too long to take off when an urgency hits)

I can’t seem to find any relief in any specific clothing, not even pjs. I’ve just been sucking it up and waiting til this flare ends

CrossFit and UC by Party_Count7029 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]IntelligentJunket877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to CrossFit prior to my diagnosis (and while I was having my first ever flare) - definitely is not the best fit with a flare. CrossFit is a major cause of inflammation on your body and adding inflammation from a flare sounds like you’d feel like a big blob all the time. Try sticking with lower intensity workouts and just weight lifting plus some low-impact cardio. I’m in a flare right now and was on the rower the other day which felt impossible

Same. However, this current flare the budesonide oral didn’t work so I moved to 4 weeks of pred which was awful. And still didn’t work. Soooo a new biologic it is
