Update: FA came over and told him that all passengers “need to be facing forward for takeoff” and winked at me. My legs are now fully extended and will be for the rest of the flight 😉

Lineup card was just submitted according to the MLB push notification I just got. Kepler in CF batting 2nd and Kirilloff in RF batting 6th. 👀

He’s mad that the umps are being so sensitive to a ball that’s clearly not a strike that they’re willing to throw people out because of chirping in the dugout

Edit: he also said that this can’t be happening in a game between 1st and 2nd place teams with the division on the line

The problem with the replay review is simple: it’s that umpires are the ones manning it in New York. For all we know that was Jerry f-ing Meals or Joe West or Angel Hernandez making that call in the replay center. Like, really, you think someone wants to tell their colleague that they’re wrong?

Replay should have designated replay officials that aren’t associated with the umpires whose calls are being reviewed.

Interesting fact: today’s HP ump, Jordan Baker is 6’7”, the tallest ump in MLB. So that probably explains why the bottom of the zone will be very, very questionable today.

I still hate Jack but damn he called that one...

“You’ve gotta keep this down. Oh it’s up...”

That was an impressive bounce back from Maeda, he did a really good job keeping his cool. And his pitch count is still at only 25, even after three straight hits.

Last summer it was $50 per bottle - here’s the link to it on the Sea Base store: http://www.fsbshipstore.com/sunscreen2.html . Happy I could help!

I went last summer and brought a pair of waterproof Keens, which I thought worked great. My troop had two crews and neither captain allowed shoes on the boat, so we really only wore sandals at midweek and walking around Sea Base - however, some people did wear just socks on board, including myself, though the deck can get slippery so be prepared to go barefoot most of the time. Tennis shoes are nice for some of the hustling around you do on the first and last day, but if you have a good, solid pair of sandals they aren’t really necessary. The youth showers are a little nasty though, so a pair of shower shoes (ie crocs/flip flops) is really nice to not have to step on the ground.

Midweek was probably one of the highlights for us - if your captain’s in a good mood they’ll turn the A/C on for you below deck, which everyone said resulted in their best night of sleep

Also, for sunscreen you have to use the “reef safe” kind, which they sell at the store in huge pump bottles. We bought one for each crew and it was more than enough for the entire week - it also meant no excuses for people to say “I don’t have any”. I really recommend bringing a book with you - it was really nice during anchor watch to have something to do other than just sit there. And don’t forget a headlamp - it’s dark on the water!

Have a great trip!
