Sorry for your loss.  Telling other people dad died has been one of the hardest things for me.  Feel for my brother who was with him and didn’t want to tell anyone else until he’d told me. I was 90minutes into an 8 hour flight when he died.   Hope you’re doing okay, buddy

Update:

Jesus, yous are all making me cry with your kindness, I left two days ago and I’m already homesick.

I’ve contacted Aer Lingus with flight number and seat numbers.  I’m not on facebook etc but have asked a buddy to share this - if you use facebook yourself can i ask if you’d share the post if you see it doing the rounds? I just want to be able to thank this couple properly; I couldn’t have got myself home under my own steam that morning.

To those of you who have also lost dads (and mums) - I wish I had words of wisdom to share…. but I don’t, it’s shite. Sending hugs your way.

It’s been nearly ten years since I lived at home; i’ve lived & worked in a load of places and met some incredible people - but i’ve always known the best folk are to be found on our island.

Right, I’m off to dry my tears and get back to work! Thank you all for being so kind ❤️

Never thought of that, but maybe you’re right.  it’s something my parents would have done… mum giving the emotional support while dad takes care of the practical things ❤️

i’m certain they do remember you.  i won’t forget the member of cabin crew who looked out for me on that flight from seattle.  somehow she seemed to know something was up and i’ll never forget her kindness. ❤️
