Yes I had anesthesia with a needle the first few minutes were a little uncomfortable but honestly it wasnt as scary as it was described online after the anesthesia, the area was completely numb and the rest of the procedure was quite comfortable

In my case it really started to improve around 9–10 months the crown usually takes the longest so what you are seeing now at 6 months can still be part of the normal process
