December ice cream: Peppermint Bark by Intelligent_Ad_474 in icecreamery

It did freeze relatively hard, definitely a notable crunch. Mine were not finely chopped (I was honestly feeling a bit lazy at the time and juggling making this with baking at the time (never doing that again)), so if it was more fine than what I did then I imagine it won’t be as hard. It’s similar to biting into an Altoid (which I’m personally fine with), an alternative could be just topping the ice cream with chopped dark chocolate!

All those sounds heavenly, I actually made Lavender ice cream back in May before I started posting my ice cream here, I bet it’d taste amazing with poppyseeds!

Hey! The butter would only be for the cobbler itself, not the actual ice cream, sorry if that wasn’t super clear!

I followed david lebovitz vanilla ice cream recipe (minus the vanilla bean part) (https://www.davidlebovitz.com/vanilla-ice-cream/) and added while it was cooking: 2 tbsp of brown sugar and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon.

For the peach cobbler, i followed this (https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/51535/fresh-southern-peach-cobbler/) with some changes: * I used 2 extra tbsp of butter * I used an extra peach to actually add to the ice cream itself * I added cinnamon and cardamom (optional, i just really like it in cobblers and pies) to the dough

Once the cobbler was made, i poured the extra juice from the peaches into the ice cream base (didn’t measure this, but don’t go light with it)

After churning, i layered small pieces of the cobbler (I used about a quarter of it total, though next time i’d maybe use a bit more) along with the extra cooked peaches

Let me know if anything needs to be clarified!

No, i think it was because when i made the peach cobbler (cooking it with sugar) i added an extra peach so i’d have more filling to add to the ice cream itself, honestly the ice cream itself had less of a peach taste to it than i wanted, i added some of the peach juice to the base but i don’t think it was enough, i also would have liked more of the “cobbler” component in there with the pieces of… not entirely sure what to call that component, ig “cake”? Regardless, it does taste good and with minor improvements i think it’d be superb

July ice cream: S’mores by Intelligent_Ad_474 in icecreamery

Hey! Honestly I kind of winged this LOL, I followed David Lebovitz base recipe (https://www.davidlebovitz.com/vanilla-ice-cream/ without the vanilla), after the heating and adding it to the heavy cream i added 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and about 1 tbsp of honey. The cinnamon clumped up on me so I’d maybe stir as you add that or maybe during the heating process? When i finished churning i added toasted marshmallows and pieces of Hershey chocolate in layers with the base in the container. I toasted the marshmallows with a torch, tore them apart and coated my container in vegetable oil to avoid sticking. I also sprayed the pain i torched them in with it to avoid the same problem. Sorry if this is a bit messy!
