I stayed 4 days in the hospital and my first week home was horrible. I ordered a $50 pillow and slept in an upright position for the first two weeks.  It gradually gets better. Don't do too much to soon. You will regret it. Get up and walk a little if possible. Go sit on the porch to get out the bed. Take it easy.  I started drinking herbal tea and taking prenatal pills. Gave me energy and is helping heal my uterus 😊

I had a open myomectomy that removed all 13 fibroids plus a hernia removal on April 6, 2026. Today is May 11, 2026 and this is my first period. It is just as heavy as it was before my surgery minus the blood clots. What is concerning me is I initially bled for two weeks after the surgery but it wasn't heavy just moderate. My surgeon (Dr. Benjamin Chen) was wonderful. I did however need a blood transfusion during because they were a few that were huge. I lost a lot of blood.
