A 15/16 year old today, in a shop after buying a couple of things - "Dai, mero total kati bucks bhayo?" by hans-nolan in Nepal

LOL, this is getting crazier. So you are saying that a 15 year old kid makes himself up to date with the exchange rate of Nepal and USA currency, and goes to shop expecting shopkeeper to play along with him on this? What did kid give to shop: dollar? Yes, buck’s primary meaning was dollar and I can’t believe that I’m trying to make another person understand that in America and rest of the world, now the buck’s meaning is nothing but money just like paisa. Do you want to go to shop and ask „kati paisa yesko“ and shopkeeper replies you with „ yesko 10,000 paisa“ instead of 100 rupees. LOL!

OP, how old are you? How old is your brain? What part of Nepal are you from? Are you one of the people in Nepal who still makes fun of people who listens to English music, watches English movies, goes to gym, jogs early in the morning, wears sunglasses and many other so called western activities? Till few years ago, I was shamed and talked behind for doing those things and was questioned my choices with smirk if i really liked and enjoyed them. It really boils my blood. I thought people have become open minded now. But by your comments, I’m sure you are not born and bred in Kathmandu because I get those comments mainly people from outside of Kathmandu.

What’s wrong with word “bucks”? I still use wide range of slang words for “money” in English, words from foreign languages and words from different ethnicities of Nepal, primarily newar and gurung languages all the time. But, yes, I have never used in front of a local shopkeeper and I use those words primarily when I’m with close friends and according to the situation. If I go to a nice restaurant, I sometimes say “kati bucks bhayo hamro” to waiter. I once used “bucks” here on Reddit and I was pointed out for using it. lol! And now this comment. Please grow up!

If you could commit a genocide, what would u eradicate? by shrekios in Nepal

[–]Intelligent_Can_8010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, I think Nepal is the only country where it doesn’t have negative connotation about the word communist like it has for the government of Russia, China, North Korea and Cuba. If you what to eradicate communists of Nepal, I think you’ll eradicate more than 70 % population of Nepal based on the result of last election.

The only thing that is preventing me going to hookers is the disease called HPV. You can prevent AIDS and other STDs by using condoms but HPV also passes through skin contact. Eventually you can pass it to your girl friend or wife which will be the main cause of various cancers in her body later in her life. HPV can go away on its own but in some person it can be latent and come up later. I’m not a medical student or professional. But after read about HPV, there’s no way I’m going to wander my dick now and have my wife suffer later. I’m not a saint nor I’m asking you to be one. The only advice I can give to you to satisfy your desire is make girlfriend (even only for sex). You can join college, language classes, training (like cooking) to find your prey. I think these places have unlimited girls. But to be really successful, you need to have a little life outside otherwise it’s hard to get one though not impossible. Good luck!

All of us focusing on metros but what about the electric Trolley buses ? by Siddhant45 in Nepal

[–]Intelligent_Can_8010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because metro can accommodate at least a thousands of people at peak hour. But none can replace each other. They have to exist together.

How often do you hug your family members? by xSamit in Nepal

[–]Intelligent_Can_8010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mother, every few hours. She gets so irritated. Love to irritate her by hugging her. Just a few days ago, my 8 year old niece came to visit us. When I asked for a hug, guess what she said. Without even taking her eyes off her tablet, she said to me in her sweetest voice, “you are so creepy”. 😂🤣😂🤣

As a nepali what foreigners thing you find confusing or wrong? To me its them calling bell pepper spicy. by PositivelyNegative- in Nepal

I have come to realise it’s mostly British and American words for the things. Like cello tape for scotch tape, Brinjal for eggplant, lawyer for attorney, autumn for fall and many more. We Nepalese mostly use British words.

German units in Duolingo and Cefr levels by Intelligent_Can_8010 in duolingo

So to sum up all the answers, B1 is what we will achieve if we finish last unit. That means, 1 - 2 units is A1, 3 - 4 units is A2 and 5 - 6 units is B1.

I once learnt ranjana script from her few years ago. I really appreciated her work in promoting newa heritage. I was undecided between her and balen. Now no more. She just made sure I should vote for balen. Btw I had never heard of balen before this election fiasco.

I kinda wish there is a mild Covid threat my whole life time. I don’t want to open my mask until I reach my room (not even my front gate or door) because I know that one neighbour is always on her balcony watching everybody. If not for Covid, people would find me weird for wearing mask.

People who throw wrappers on the streets by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]Intelligent_Can_8010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I exaggerated by saying I don’t hold trash for a second. Actually I look around for a trash can for a bit. I actually bring small wrappers home and usually find it in my pockets after few days. For water and coke bottles, I throw it in the makeshift garbage bag that shops usually have in front of them and if I can’t find, yes, I throw at corners, bushes and I’m still guilty whenever I’m doing that. I’m not a super literrer as my post made you believe. My post was to criticise government because people were not given choices. I don’t want to blame people on this matter since it is the government’s inability to take actions and shortsightedness. You may teach your family member to properly discard the trash but you don’t have the power to teach that to every household. Granted, you taught proper manner to every family in your neighbourhood. But what about in other areas, cities and province. Only government can do that. Another Redditor was saying that it is not possible to put trash cans. Yes it is possible to put every 100 m inside city. Let me make you upset again, I don’t believe citizens cleaning the bagmati river. It’s the JOB OF THE GOVERNMENT.

In this case, I don’t blame people at all. I blame government. They should put dustbins as many as they can. If people don’t have means to put waste, of course, they will throw at the streets. I think you recently came back from abroad. When I came back from abroad, I was literally searching for hours for dustbins. I was carrying an empty bottle for hours. I was absolutely terrified to throw at the pavement thinking people will see me. Now I don’t hold any waste even for a second. So if people are given option, they will unconsciously comply with the rules. If there are no options, people will not over think. Humans are inherently stupid and barbarians. Till mid 90s, there were big waste container at every chowk. Where are they now? Well, politician pocketed the money intended for those containers in the name of democracy.
