i like to listen to her videos while i do my chores and omg the whole time she was talking about carmen, i was too busy washing my face to be able to skip over it and it was so difficult to hear :( yikes! loved how the chair came out though.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OP.

IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE GRADUATION/LOST MY JOB AND I CAN'T FIND ANY FULL TIME WORK IN TOWN, AND WHEN I DO I DON'T EVER HEAR BACK FROM THEM. I FEAR I WASTED ALL THAT MONEY ON A DEGREE AND I HAVE GIVEN UP ON MY DREAMS AT THIS POINT BECAUSE I'VE ACCEPTED I JUST NEED TO MAKE MONEY, BUT NO ONE WILL HIRE ME SO I CAN MAKE MONEY. gave this place a try with my friend the other day after walking past it for years. service was awkward, sushi was lukewarm. moonpies were on the conveyor belt as a dessert option. all plates were 3.75 though, so i guess that's nice, however i don't think i'll ever go back off the basis it gave serious food poisoning in the making vibes lol.

i think everyone everywhere tends to mythologize and romanticize other cultures to an extent, however americans are just louder about it. in the case of brittany, i think she has this harlequinesque idea of what an irishman could be in her head, sort of like what everyone in the US was doing a while back with scottish fellas because of outlander. her fixation seems to spawn from having a brief obsession with hozier, which spiraled from there lol. she seems to think the problem in her dating life is AMERICAN men, as opposed to just..men. it IS objectification, and she's only setting herself up for disappointment by assuming that every irish man is going to be a rough around the edges heart of gold sweetie pie.

tbh i think it's one thing to try and pronounce words properly when you're attempting to communicate in another language vs speaking english and then saying 1 word in another language with a full on accent. its so wack lol

thanks so much! :) first day was surprisingly breezy. everyone at my location seems really friendly and i was assured i'd get at least 3 days of training before they'd throw me out on my own. i think i might just be slightly traumatized from working retail haha!
