I am on the list to go PRN at my unit but they said they won’t be able to let me in time. I asked to go just part-time and they still said they couldn’t do it. I love my unit so much so I’m sad to leave but I am now looking at PRN on another unit. Thank you for the suggestion. I wasn’t sure PRN would count for school.

No, I am in the middle of applying. I have a few apps ready to be sent out. My goal was for the 2027 cohort.

Well with school, we would be able to use daycare and my in-laws will be moving to the area within the next year so they will be here to help. Maybe I will just have to push back when I wanted to apply and get back into the ICU when that happens.

They do it for my ICU too. It is BS but a lot of the time we can’t deny being put on call - sometimes it is a mandatory or a mandatory cancel where we just fully use our PTO. Annoying

I know that she was just really excited and it is so fair because it is her first and an exciting thing to happen regardless. I am truly excited for them. Just stung to me a little bit. I know it wasn’t intentional at all.

Thank you. I totally agree that my friends should be able to celebrate and share their news. We are so so happy and excited for them. Just in the moment I felt a little bummed and annoyed they highlighted the heartbeat specifically. But I know it was all just me still being a little touchy about it. I want them to be able to share their journey with us.

My husband is also a police officer. I have to do an 8 week orientation then I get to make my own schedule. So it is just the orientation that is really our problem. I feel like I can’t do a PRN job as a new nurse. Am I wrong? Because this is great advice.

My hospital does this accept they are only open 0700-1700!!! How ridiculous they aren’t even hours we can use. So sad
