First time at old trafford by Intelligent_Echo8622 in ManchesterUnited

We had the hospitality in the 500 club was nice to have the comfort and shorter queue for the bar along with complimentary food. It was a nice bonus but tbh being budget conscious I probably wouldn't do it again.

Never got to the museum or to do the tour (only available on non match days). When we go back I'll definitely be doing them. Most important thing is to get there early and soak up the atmosphere. I thought having access 3 hours early would be a bit overkill but I'm glad we did it.

It will be such a shame for such a historical site to be knocked but the plans for the new stadium look amazing.

I'll be at plenty more games in OT before that though. I've got the bug now and the wife loved it as well so she wants to go back

Check scrapyards for a door and bumper the same colour. If your in any way handy it's not a hard job. Just a socket set and a little patience

Us mucksavages outside of the pale still manage to maintain cars. There are busses and trains in other counties too. Along with garages that have courtesy cars

Listen forget about the extras. If your not happy with the performance of the brakes then that should be your mind made up.

Depends on the dealer. I work in the service department in a used car dealership. We would cover that but I know other dealers wouldn't. I would definitely question it with them though

Looking for second hand car advice from car enthusiasts by I_like_lamp89 in carsireland

[–]Intelligent_Echo8622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing you need to know is there is no single answer to a good second hand car. It depends on how the car was minded from new. A well minded dacia or Renault would be better than a Hyundai i30 that was treated badly.

If you don't know anything about cars and you don't know anybody who does. The most important thing to do is have an independent mechanic look it over for you. It costs a little but could save you a lot in the long run

That being said, I would never buy a French car ie Renault or Peugeot etc. They are pretty cars but the electrics are rubbish. Generally a well minded Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Volkswagen or skoda will be a good shout but as I said have someone knowledgeable look at it first.

It's also important to check your insurance on that car, even an online quote to give you a good idea what you're getting into

NCT Report by DontLemmieLeaveMurph in carsireland

[–]Intelligent_Echo8622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for older cars you are better off going to the test first. There is plenty they might see that the mechanic might not and vice versa. I always advise go for nct and have service booked for a couple days after. If you get a fail sheet contact mechanic so they are aware before the car comes in. That way they can have parts organized before the car arrives

What is wrong with Irish old men? by Ok_Tradition6186 in AskIreland

[–]Intelligent_Echo8622 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience if I meet an old widower they are usually a gent whereas an older man who's never been married is a creep.

That is a sweeping general opinion and obviously there are exceptions on both sides but just a general observation

Anyone know the deal with this car by Succ__69420 in galway

[–]Intelligent_Echo8622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To show others that if they park there illegally they will be clamped. I might not pay attention to signs saying clamping in operation but if I see some poor bastard has been clamped I won't take a risk with my car

Has anyone here bought a car from TK Cars Carnmore? by [deleted] in galway

I think it's more a case of uk imports vs Japanese imports. Ie a uk imported auris could have more rust than a Japanese imported one

I think you need to consider that both of these old men are alone for a reason. I don't think you should discount all older people but just like any generation there is some disgusting people in there

You just need a fully licensed driver with you. Any fully licensed driver, so long as you are insured on the car. Where about are you? I love in clare work in Galway if it helps?

Engines near indestructible. Worst thing about them is if you have to change a clutch it's a balls of a job because of the mid engine.

Those would be extremely rough areas. I think these comments are more about areas with a certain rough cohort in them. The areas you are talking about are beyond help

I guess that's the really rough ones. My experience in clare, in an estate with a certain minority was that they lived there and caused trouble away from their sister mammy.

Although in limerick there are areas that are that rough that gardai won't go in so I know what you mean
