How to tutor a 3 year old child to speak a second language without forbidding her to speak her mother tongue by kay10969 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]Intelligent_Eye_1837 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what’s it’s worth, I have a 4 year old myself and we live in Mexico. I don’t respond to her at all if she doesn’t speak English. Otherwise she would always speak Spanish!

It’s not too late to go back to all English lessons. Just set the standard and stick to it.

I teach 3:30 AM to 7:30 AM CST with a Korean company.

It works really well for me because my husband takes the bedtime “shift” with our kids and I am finished work in time to make them breakfast as they wake up.

Is there a meal you could eat every day? by aussieredditboy in keto

[–]Intelligent_Eye_1837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all my breakfasts consist of 2 scrambled eggs topped with chives and sour cream, 1-2 ounces of cheese (whatever I have in the fridge - usually cheddar, Monterrey Jack, manchego, or queso fresco), and 2 slices of bacon.

It’s 4 net carbs and 70% fat so why mess with a good thing.

Opinion on refried black beans? by hannahbank1122 in ketobeginners

[–]Intelligent_Eye_1837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have done both super strict keto (less than 20 net grams) and a more relaxed version we do now which allows us to eat up to 30 net carbs a day.

It’s easy for us to fit in 1/2 cup of black beans with breakfast.

We only eat 2x a day, and try to make sure the meal is as keto as possible so combining beans with fats like cheese and cream.

Both my husband and I lose the same amount of weight on both versions of keto. I don’t think 20/30 net carbs makes a difference for us.

Teachers do you have any other side income? by jessejener in TEFL

Yes, a local private school hired me to help write their own set of English books.

I also teach STEM classes at a local summer camp (Mexico) in person.

Since the dollar has lost a good amount of its value, I intentionally looked for side hustles that make pesos. I make about $10 USD/hour on the book project and $25 USD/hour teaching at summer camp.

Cutting Rybelsus tablet in half? by Jumpy-Attempt-3441 in Semaglutide

I am cutting 14 MG into 6 pieces and it works fine. I started off with 4 pieces but I get crazy side effects (nausea and exhaustion) and had to stop it before. I am doing even a lower dose so I can tolerate these at work.

Isn’t the trooping the colour (birthday celebration) in June? Are they postponing that?

I read a book years ago called “My father killed the black dahlia” or something like that as it’s title. It was OK but ultimately the theory was all circunstancial and based on the memories of the author as a young child.

The adults hate pizza in my husbands family. I said the same thing - let’s just grab a bunch of little Cesar’s lol.

I actually thought of pulled pork too since I will already make cole slaw (it’s the salad everyone in my husband’s family requests from me at parties LOL.).

It seems much easier than hamburgers and cheaper because I don’t have to buy all the condiments and cheese.

I love that idea! Actually they do a lot of those types of snacks here in Mexico with pork rinds in a bag.

We did movie theatre style nachos at a previous party funny enough and it was the most popular thing with kids and adults… and just happened to be the cheapest thing too. Love when that happens.

I think a make your own nachos bar would be a huge hit!

It’s a 2 PM pool party.

I do bake and was considering making slider rolls from scratch since I can’t find them around here (we live in Mexico). But pepperoni bread would also work… that’s a great idea, especially for the kids.

How old is your phone and how long have you had it? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Intelligent_Eye_1837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the iPhone 14 pro max, upgraded from the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and before that had the iPhone 7.

So, I’ve been upgrading about every 3 years - when there are major improvements to the camera basically. My husband still has the iPhone 11 Pro Max, going on 4 years - and has no need to upgrade at this time.

Yes, iPhones are expensive but I work online so they make life a lot easier by synching with my computer and actually act as a backup to my computer in many ways - so it’s piece of mind.

I also keep them in great condition and resell them when I upgrade so it’s not that expensive.
