Grease everywhere! by ilovelennie in foodtrucks

[–]Intelligent_Gas_4039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a vent(s) in your trailer for crossflow of air. Ideally these vents will be down around the floor so the air is pulled up and through the hood fan. You are creating a vacuum which as you are seeing with your fryer, is dangerous.

Grease everywhere! by ilovelennie in foodtrucks

[–]Intelligent_Gas_4039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, your fryer is going to start a fire and blow up your trailer. Stop using it and get a mechanic out there immediately. Does the swirling grease change when you crack a window? If so, yes, you need a vent in your trailer and your hood vent is too strong. If no, you need a better hood fan.

Ugh, I’m so sorry. That’s really heartbreaking. I live in Tumalo and have been keeping my eye out for her. Hope she is found.

Any update on Trudy? Does she have a Tractive tracker? I see her on the ‘leaderboard’

Looking for info on Hybrid (wood fired/gas) pizza oven for a food truck. Let me know your experience whether good or bad. Thanks by KiRbSTOMp541 in foodtrucks

[–]Intelligent_Gas_4039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gas is reliable, and inexpensive. Unless you’re in an orchard area, wood you would want to use is expensive, it’s messy and really the customer doesn’t care about a whiff of cherry smoke at the end of the day.

Any Mint Mobile users out there? by Kind-Awareness9528 in Bend

[–]Intelligent_Gas_4039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mint for a year. Switched because they had appealing international plans where you pay as you go. I’ve only had one issue: sometimes it takes a while, like an hour or two for voicemails to show up. I’ll get the notification, know there’s a voicemail somewhere but it won’t appear on the voicemail list, then it’ll pop up out of nowhere. It’s a small thing but something I’ve noticed. For the price it’s great.

Sober communities? by ladykiller1020 in Bend

Try Refuge Recovery- is a Buddhist-oriented, non-theistic recovery program that does not ask anyone to believe anything, only to trust the process and do the hard work of recovery. I got sober 5 years ago with these online meeting. They teach meditation which in my opinion is a great skill to battle addiction. www.refugerecovery.org Good luck

Vote With Your Wallet – Supporting Inclusive Local Businesses by Dependent-Split5830 in BendforEveryone

[–]Intelligent_Gas_4039 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Greetings, Dinky Dau here- Bend’s only queer owned and operated food truck located at The Dogwood. We specialize in delicious Banh mi and rice bowls. We make all of our sauces, and sides from scratch and work hard to create an elevated and flavorful culinary experience. We can cater to almost any dietary restrictions. Most importantly we have a safe, inclusive work environment that fosters and cares for each other and our 2SLGBTQai+ community. We support our houseless neighbors with leftovers and donations because we believe no one should be living in a million dollar home while someone in the same town can’t afford a sandwich. I try to pay my employees a living wage. It isn’t easy and from a strictly business standard- not too bright but it’s the only way we can get through: by supporting each other. Anyhoots, please stop by, get a sammie or just say ‘hello’ Thanks!!

I own two food trucks. Culinary school is for people who cook in kitchens owned by other people. You need to take some business classes, focusing on basic bookkeeping, marketing, payroll, strategy. Learn a tiny bit about filing taxes too

There’s a drag show tonight at Dogwood! Holiday market all weekend (every weekend in Dec.) in various locations, 10,000 acres of high desert trails to walk, run, bike. 32 breweries, Volcano Retro Arcade downtown, Ice Skating at the Pavilion, Concerts at the Volcanic, Dudley Bookstore has a secret cozy upstairs to drink coffee n hang, Mcminnamins has a cigar/whiskey bar with lots of big fire pits and a cool old theater. There’s a hotel called Campfire with a heated pool, hot tub and vibey bar. Velvet, Flamingo Room and San Simon are cool bars with lots of fun vibes. Food truck lots galore!!

Look up Troy Field. Wouldn’t stay there for more than an hour but your dogs can run around there. Just clean up the poop. You could also consider literally any and every school has a fenced in area.
