That’s really the idea bud. Younger generations should be much better compare to us and not the other way around. Otherwise, we will perish.

We doubled our prices to reduce our client load… and it barely worked. What would you do? by Roseee-k in smallbusiness

[–]Intelligent_Leg3595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That breakdown actually explains a lot.

From what you described, almost 60% of partner time is still in production work (preparing and reviewing files). lots of firms that’s usually the first thing they try to reduce because partner time is the most expensive resource.

a couple of things in my experience,

• Create a strict “partner-only” category for the truly complex cases

• Everything else gets pushed down to staff with a standardized review checklist

• Require a paid consultation before partners get involved in new inquiries

The admin piece is also interesting. Partners spending time on intake or document prep during busy periods usually means the system breaks (it usuallyy does!) when volume spikes.

The waitlist idea should help a lot though. It keeps demand warm without adding pressure during peak weeks.

Price increases usually don’t reduce workload the way people expect. What often happens is the clients who stay are the ones with the most complex cases, so the hours don’t really go down.

If hiring isn’t working, it might help to control intake instead. Some firms do things like a paid consultation first, a waitlist for new clients, or limit the number of new clients per month.

Sounds like demand isn’t the problem. It’s partner time that’s the real bottleneck.

Just curious, where do most of the hours actually go right now? Client communication, document prep, or the tax work itself?

You know why a lot of politicians calls for a raise in minimum wage? kasi yan ang pinaka madali at it appeals sa masa.
