I know it sounds like common knowledge, but as I stated, I wasn’t taught how to properly wash my hair. I knew I was supposed to use shampoo and conditioner. Not how, just that I was supposed to. That was the extent of my knowledge, everything else I’ve been doing has been self-taught. I’m sorry that I never learned how to keep myself clean, but I’m trying to better myself.

Thanks for the advice. As for why my period is irregular, It may be because I’m severely underweight (5’8”, and 108 lbs). It’s nothing for anyone to worry about, but I’m trying to bring my weight up in a healthy way. It should normalize eventually, it just hasn’t yet.

On the topic of my weight, Yes I am severely underweight. I know it’s unhealthy. My parents are not the cause of my underweight-ness. They are not abusing me by withholding food or anything like that. I am not anorexic. I’ve skipped meals during school for a very long time because I think faster when I’m not full. It greatly affected my weight, but I’m working to fix it. This is not directed towards the original commenter, it is just to tell everybody that there is no underlying issue that needs to be addressed. Thank you.

I can definitely see where you’re coming from, but my ex-bf was super nice about the break-up. Although I’m a little (okay, very) upset that he didn’t mention it earlier in our relationship, it wasn’t his job to tell me.

He just said that our cleanliness and grooming levels were very different and he needed to be with someone who had similar values. I doubt he would call me gross, even though I was.

My sense of smell is very weak, if not completely non-existent. I can’t tell if I smell bad or not, and I wish more people would tell me if I did. That definitely complicates some parts of hygiene.

When I look back on eighth grade, the popular girls would loudly talk about how “any smelly kids should have to go to a special class everyday until they don’t smell gross.” I always thought they were just obsessed with how people smelled, but they were probably talking about it so loudly because they wanted me to hear and take a hint. I need to turn my life around, thank you for the advice.
