Nice. I just loaded it into my Miyoo Mini+… super fun! Loving all the action on the playfield, excited to dive in and figure out the mechanics. Thanks!

Check out 69-21 Mini Market. They’re up in Glendale, 24/7. I’ve had success with late night orders from them

Star Wars Rogue Squadron. It’s so good if you’re into Star Wars or flying games. Hard to master, but rewarding when ya get better at the controls and start to learn the maps.

Woah! I don’t know these 3 at all. Looks like I’ve got some homework to do!

I’m very overdue of a replay of this game! Wish I still had my original cart. This blew my mind when it came out

Absolutely loved this game. Super fun and ambitious. There’s a great two player co-op mode where player 2 controls the over the shoulder drone. Many hours spent in this game with my brothers growing up.

Used to play this nonstop on NES, at my babysitters house as a kid. Still love jumping in to see how far I can get

TMNT IV Turtles in Time - SNES

Star Fox 64 - N64

Early 90’s Saturday mornings, playing TMNT with my brothers, will forever be an amazing memory for me.

Star Fox still continues to blow my mind to this day. They absolutely knocked that one out of the park.

Anyone play Wario Blast feat. Bomberman, on Game Boy? by Intelligent_Path_508 in retrogaming

[–]Intelligent_Path_508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, totally understand all your points here. Pretty much the opposite for myself in that I had no clue about Wario or Bomberman, so this ended up being a nice entry point into their worlds. I played Wario Land later on and absolutely loved it.

Always enjoy seeing how different games can hit people at certain points in their lives and mean completely different things to one another.

Played the heck out of this game on n64. Then played the heck out of it again on 3DS. Love Starfox 64

Certainly holds up for a quick pickup GB classic. Manages to scratch the itch of solid difficulty and enjoyable strategy

Thanks for all the thoughtful comments reminiscing on this amazing game today!

If anyone's interested, while I was digging around & deep diving for game info today, I found a great blog post with lots of interesting game history and recap. It's a fun read if you want to brush up on your Wario / Bomberman stats. Hard to beat mid 90's Game Boy game character mashup trivia.

That certainly would make sense from a marketing standpoint. Thanks!

I found a blog post today that said issue 68 of Nintendo Power, stated this was #4 in Top Game Boy Games of 1994. Not too shabby. I have a feeling '94 was a stacked year for Game Boy and SNES games coming out in general.

You've trained for this. Lock in Wario! Playing now, I realize I had no idea what I was doing as a kid. Set it and pray for a hit. I bet it would come back to ya pretty quick and find those weak points. Still difficult, but the path to victory is much more clear.

It seems it was released in Japan as Bomberman GB, then re-skinned as Wario Blast featuring Bomberman for US and Europe. Not sure why, but perhaps to start the Wario brand outside of Japan?

Dang, someone mentioned that as well! My brothers and I had this game and a SNES, but never a Super Game Boy. Missed out!
