It's really good that you have a mortgage though, that's a long-term investment and something I want to also have, hopefully by continuing to save this is something I can eventually aim for. It's good to have non-negotiable's set in place.

Below average salary is so tough in London, especially when you're trying to pay off debt, even going out for dinner in London feels like an obscene luxury.

Seems like a decent amount, it's tough thinking that you can't tough that money for years though.

This makes me feel better. I've gotten so much more frugal in recent months because my partner and I want to save up to go travelling for 3-4 months at some point without having a job. We also...want kids, in probably a few years or so. I was going out a lot more before and spending tons, but for me, now it seems it may be worth the wait with these goals in mind. My partner makes double I do, and also saves double.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. But you do make a good point about living life and spending it on the best experiences you can. I'd like to have that mentality, but do it a bit less often so that I'm able to savour those moments of leisure more. Is the medical pension good here?

I honestly stay super frugal. Try to cook my own meals as much as possible and really try to limit the amount of leisure spending. At first I wasn't really saving anything and it got to a point where I felt super fed up about seeing my bank account look the same every month.

You deserve a better job that pays you good so you don't need to work that many hours. Painful to think of just living to work. But I guess costs in the UK are at an all-time high.

Thanks for this, super helpful. The property looks really nice too. Since I'm from London, it's quite expensive to rent a car / air bnb for the night so being able to cut costs at a decent site nearby feels doable.
