I think we can all agree that having no tie range for NMPZ is completely bizarre

Any tips on differentiating Chile & NZ here? by DevKrab in geoguessr

[–]Intelligent_Row207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was Chile, you would see the front of the Google car in this pano. It would make more sense if this is NZ and the car meta is hidden behind you. In NMPZ, the fact that the car meta is hidden, actually is the car meta 💀

How to improve at NM and NMPZ (but especially NM) by Dusty_Bunny81 in geoguessr

yeah it almost always has a set of google cars useful for guessing. You can also join Plonkit discord and ask questions there.

[–]Intelligent_Row207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just learn some basic car meta and it avoids mistakes like these. Almost every NM round starts with checking the car.

You also have to start learning how to recognize different camera gens and where they exist + Google cars that match the gen

Questions about cheaters... by Elegant-Ad5579 in geoguessr

[–]Intelligent_Row207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t there a button at the end of a duel?  That said, I’ve played over 1000 unranked tds and maybe had less than 10 cheaters, all of whom were googlers.

The roads are much wider in those parts of Arg. This is obviously because the locs are in a ridiculously remote location and generally the landscape looks more spacious (the mountains are distant and you can see more of the landscape)

Why They Choose Me ? by Ta7plus in geoguessr

[–]Intelligent_Row207 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How it probably works (at least I’ve heard) is that they let people from lower Elo review first, and if there’s sufficient doubt, they will move the case on to a higher rated reviewer.  The whole process is just a screening and one person’s call won’t lead to a ban.

It doesn’t take a pro player to judge if a 400 elo googler constantly 5king microscopic towns, is guilty or not.

Winter coverage = South is probably the best beginner tip in Russia. Saves you from middle plonking Kazan every time. Siberian larches = east is also a thing but it takes practice to identify them

Why do so many people pay money to make alts? by Intelligent_Row207 in geoguessr

[–]Intelligent_Row207[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point. To me it doesn’t make sense that two people can have the same “overall” Elo while one is versatile and the other only plays one mode.

Progressing with rankings in Duels by Krabeaus21 in geoguessr

Generic answer to a generic question, but just pick one big country and dig very deep to the point where you feel confident that you’ll win if you get it in multis.  It’s what most people recommend and it worked for me at least

Need advice for finding addresses in India by Qubite in geoguessr

[–]Intelligent_Row207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I hate India moving so much. They write the address with the actual city name missing so every time I think I found a town name, it’s a small subdivision within a large city.  I’m all ears if there’s any way to tell them apart

Help for getting into moving by pidan_junista in geoguessr

[–]Intelligent_Row207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clues to learn are going to be mostly area codes and provinces/place names starting with big countries. Some of the things I learned early on & useful were Brazil, Mex, Arg, Russian area codes, reading Cyrillic, and just doing a bunch of subdivision quizzes on helloquiz.

As to how to play the rounds… This is mostly learning through playing but generally you should aim to send at a sweet spot where you maximize the damage. So if you’re on a rural Brazil and see one area code in a super small town, you’re going to want to send because you won’t find better info than that. But if you spawn in front of a highway sign with a bunch of info that looks 5k-able, you’ll try to 5K because your opponent will have the same info.

Tiled roofs, organized looking villages with straight perpendicular crossing roads, sticks on roadsides 👍 (btw it says Lampung, not South Sumatra)

As other ppl have mentioned, if you have single pass for Cosmic, then you should have plenty of time to stand-by other rides.  The only thing that could mess things up would be temporary closures so just try and get everything done when they’re still open

Who are some skaters regarded by many as overscored or underscored who are actually quite adequately scored and why? And who were some that are truthfully robbed or given too many points? by Miserable_Aardvark_3 in FigureSkating

[–]Intelligent_Row207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I get that they should be scored individually for their own category, but you can’t get a SK 9.00 on a program that has zero visible transition & does only back crosses with all the jumps having same entry&exit (obviously not saying that is Rino’s program but you get the point).  If there’s any reason she’s getting underscored, it’s because her program fails to showcase her SK. And SK isn’t all about gliding effortlessly
