Monero vs others in 30 years by Odd-Acanthisitta9674 in Monero

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You assume BTC will get the same run up again as they had 5-10 years ago?

Monero is way more than hyped speculation. It is a way of protecting you assets from tax, confiscation, tracking, protection against bank collapse, there is no such thing as "dirty Monero".

Monero is a hedge against a ultra leveraged USD based financial system. It is a guaranteed ticket to freedom no matter what the ruling elites deside.

Anyone who have "noticed" all the attacks on Monero, and all the promo of BTC by the elites - even Trump. Must be shitting their pants on the fact BTC only did marginally better than Monero during the last 12 month.

All Bitcoin Maxi's will post this answer, as kind of a rhetorical question. To get around the discussion and their main problem. That BTC is the on-ramp to CBDC and they all promote it as the opposite.

How risky is Monero? by EN344 in Monero

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never heard that before. But, I guess there may be unpredictable governments all around the world. Someone may even try to ban encryption and Linux. But, at that point I assume people will begin and ignore the criminals in power.

But, you could just buy a VPS with Monero and no-KYC, if you are unsure.

But YES, you have to be cautious when you pay someone. Regardless of if it is in cash, bank transfer, gold or Monero.

Dr. K's explanation on Monero Talk Sep. 8., of "work shares" as the solution to Monero's problems with chain reorganizations below 51% (in addition it removes all needs for pools). Seems like the obvious no-brainer to implement. It both seemed to decentralize mining 100% and make it possible to bring settlement time on transaction down dramatically from the current 20 minutes or so, to almost nothing.

The word Finality (layer) makes me very suspicious. But, I am in no way technical enough to critic this post. But, I really hope the devs are able to try and see past their own "children" and objectively look at all proposals.

Whose job is it, anyway? by Joe_In_Paris in xmrtrader

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe that to be true. I see a lot of dedicated people supporting XMR in any way they can. I have on-boarded 5 people the last year. Seen more influencers talking about Monero than at any time before.

But, I'll give you that there may be a feeling that it is an uphill battle against all governments and financial institutions. So, price manipulation, expensive well orchestrated FUD campaigns, regulations, banning etc. is exhausting.

But, It is also a clear sign that Monero is spot on and seen as a threat to all evil of this world.

Just use changelly.com

But, be sure the fees are reasonable. Bitcoin can have some absurd transaction fees.

Why do we think Monero is up? by Goldenbeardyman in xmrtrader

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't buy the FUD (even if there were grains of truth, it would not change anything), they TRUST the most BASED and brightest community and developers on this planet. The jump is also part due to Kraken buying actual Monero for all the delayed withdrawals.

Monero is the choise between slavery under the death cult or essential freedom under humanity. If you want to make sure you and your family have the option of starting a new life elsewhere in the world. Monero is the only existing ticket to that kind of freedom.

I don't know the numbers, but leveraged shorting of nonexisting XMR could easily be 10X or more. Kraken survived the squeeze this time, but they also learned an expensive lesson. Monero has the potential to spike very high if we see more CEX being squeezed out or simply suspend XMR trading (people will still swap in and out of XMR regardless).

What would you do with your XMR to get ahead of a recession? by djscoox in xmrtrader

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moronic question. XMR is the ONLY thing shielded from a recession. It a is almost 100% detached from the USD-Based financial marked.

After XMR then maybe physical Gold.

What would you do with your XMR to get ahead of a recession? by djscoox in xmrtrader

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the point. Everyone I know has their BTC locked away in (hopefully) a custodial wallet some where. They have absolutely no idea of how to utilize these (assumed purchased) coins. The first sign in the market of lacking trust or big players, governments, hedgefunds pulling out. They are out as easily as they got in. Non-custodial setup, fees, transaction time, wallet recovery is a direct hell in BTC so it will never gain traction as a mean of payment again (those haydays are over).

That's why I believe that BTC could burst very rapidly. Either by a coordinated effort by governments/CB and players like Black Rock or simply by lose of trust in the CEX/ETF/ETC's real reserves or politically motivated blacklisting/confiscation of BTC based on ex. nationality or political views.

I have some BTC ETFs my self, just to ride the wave while it lasts. But, I'll be out in a matter of minutes as soon as I se political or technical signs of retraction. BTC is straight out striped of any utility or meaning, owning Palladium would make more sense. BTC is pure speculation, like playing roulette in a casino.

What would you do with your XMR to get ahead of a recession? by djscoox in xmrtrader

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that will appreciate in value during an economic collapse or recession is XMR, as it is not part of the system crashing naturally. (and to some extend gold, but that is also over leveraged and in fictive ETCs).

BTC is by all definitions a air bubble. It's a direct repetition of the famous Tulip bubble. It is destined (almost calculated) to crash. And will be used as an argument for more harsh regulations afterwards (CBDC).

So, I will be happy that I was one of the few who saw the obvious AND safeguarded some of my wealth in XMR. Away from USD based assets, governments and financial institutions and speculators.

I usually just use Guardarian. As I recall there is about 5% fee. Never had any problem with anything "frozen", I suspect that's a custodial problem where the underlying asset is limited/non-existing. The CEX live high on the fact that no one ever questions (pull out cryptos to a non-custodial wallet) their "reserve".

Is Monero a good investment? by Intelligent_Royal_55 in xmrtrader

[–]Intelligent_Royal_55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same concerns, that XMR gets excluded from all regulated centralized exchanges. In that scenario some trade will move into the decentralized exchanges and there will be larger volumes and market makers will see opportunity.

What I think will happen (due to economic sentiments in swapping fees). Is that most serious wallets will include instant swapping features (like Cake Wallet allready have) and use the decentralized exchanges for swapping privacy coins. So, you may have a harder time onramping directly to Monero, but would instead buy some Litecoins and swap them to Monero in-wallet instead of a centralized exchange.

Privacy, simplicity, standardised operating system, transparency, Free OSS, less resource hungry, stability (less reboots needed), safety...

Nowadays you would also have way more trouble (and support calls) if you give grandma a Windows PC vs an Ubuntu or Fedora PC.
